How to recover a bought account locked by Jagex?

I recently bought an account, and it just got locked by Jagex.

I have no reason to be concerned about it being recovered (for now), because a similar incident occurred when I started playing Runescape again after a five-year break. Apparently my new IP address was immensely different than the IP from my old house that I used to register the account originally to, so Jagex locked it.

I got it cleared up with Jagex before too long, so I think the same thing is happening, especially because the account continues to be locked, instead of being recovered.

So now I ask, is there a way that I could recover this account? I know the following information:

I've entered this into the recovery form multiple times, along with the most detailed account of the state before the lock, to no avail.

Recovery questions were changed by me, but were pending. Email registration was also pending.

Is there any way I could recover this account? To my knowledge, Jagex looks at the IP to try to match it with the creation IP, because they believed the account has been hijacked. I have no idea what the creation IP is, but I'll be trying public proxies in the given creation location in the coming days.

Is there a way to have a limit put on the lock, so if it isn't recovered at some time, it will automatically become unlocked? Can I email Jagex proposing it?

Username will be withheld for obvious reasons.

 

It will be locked until somebody unlocks it.

You would have to provide a lot more information than that. They probably locked it because they think it is being hacked or something along them lines.

You would need add more information like...

-Old recovery questions
-Past membership details
-Old email addresses

You should ask the seller for the information stated above.

I have asked for the information, and that's all the seller gave me. Apparently the account was bought off someone else by that person, so I'm trying to ask for his username to contact the aforementioned owner, but the person who sold it to me is a little slow at replying to my PM's.

I membered the account this month, and I know the cards PIN number, but when I enter the details, it asks me to add an email, which I do not know, and did not have to enter while entering the code.

 

Ask the seller to unlock it for you

 

The person who sold you that account is responsible for the account even if they are not the original owner. If it's locked it's most likely the seller recovering it back off of you. Report him in the scammers section and you will be assisted with getting either the account back/refund.

 

^ This, don't fall for bs, seems like it's being recovered. Jagex locks account when alot of claims are filed, so perhaps he's done it more then once.

 

He is most likely not the original owner. I would demand a refund if he ain't able to provide information needed to recover the account. You will never have total access of the account if he doesn't provide all information needed to recover the account successfully.

Older information is better so I found. Although, if you bought membership by card, then you should add that in the recovery form as it is better than nothing.

 

Ugh, thanks guys. Looks like I f***ed up, reading the guidelines in the rule sections and whatnot. Apparently I did everything wrong in doing the trade, doing most things that aren't acceptable as evidence.

Well I'll file a report, and move on, checking on it once in a while.

EDIT: Should I file the report now, having no proof that it has been recovered (Because it is only locked)? How would I state that in the template?

 

If there is a thread saying he's selling the acc, and you proving you have the right pass. Or something, that should be enough.

 

Well I have the password that I set, so that when you click Login, it says the account is locked. I've tried it with random passwords (which were obviously incorrect), and it gave me the standard 'incorrect password/username combination' message. I also have the password that was given to me when I bought the account, and the prior passwords that was given to me by the seller to recover it.

EDIT: The problem is that I was being a dumb***, and negotiated mostly via PM, and did the actual deal through MSN (with no screenshot, because I'm stupid).

 

Just look for as much evidence as you can to link; yourself + the trader + account together.

Piece it together and make a report.

Yeah that's perfect if you have PM's. Yes, screenshot them, upload them to a website such as; www.imageshack.us and use the "forum code" and put them on your report thread.

Now the only problem left is the MSN conversations. It was done through the Hotmail website, because for some reason, my Empathy doesn't play well with my Ubuntu.

The actual trading part was done on that, including the payment confirmation, and password exchange..

Any tips on that?

 

Unless you can access some sort of inbox/chat history then you won't be able to bring the old conversation back up.

If not just use the most proof you can and a mod should help you.

Even if no proof, the guy sold the account and is responsible for it.
