Surge in RSGP prices.

What has actually brought this surge in RSGP prices on. Last time i was buying gold, I was aiming to get for $0.55 and had to shell out $0.6 as I was impatient. Now it looks like the cheapest I can get it for is $0.75. What caused the jump?

 

The bot nuke, it's not as easy to bot gold anymore as most bots are down. So seeing as it's not as easy to get gold non legit people charge more because of the prices they have to pay for the bots that do work.

 

The removal of bots.

 

not only because they have to pay for the bots that no longer work
but also charging for the effort they have to make now that they can't bot

 

Rollbacks are also a minor factor.

$0.6 is nothing. When I joined Sythe mils were around $5 each.

 

Well, obviously times change.
Unfortunately I sold off most of my GP for .39/M half a year ago.

 

During Botnuke, I took the plunge and spent $30 in RSGP as a long term investment. Now I regret only spending $30.

 

It is definitely because of the bot nuke which stopped a shit load of bils each day from entering the market. But how high will prices go?

I'd say they are pretty stable and fair where they are right now. The price seems to have corrected downward slightly to a point where they will stay until there is another big change.

 

Its all due to the bot nuke.

 

Without the bots, there is significantly less gold farming happening ingame and so the price rose a little bit.

 

Bots aren't as widespread and easily attainable as they used to be.
Or as smooth at doing their job.

Now, the bots that are out there, aren't very good or aren't made for very good money making sources.

So, most people get their GP by hand, usually the majority of big time sellers get it from staking.

So, basically, now that people actually have to do work, they make you pay more for their time.

Cant gold farm easily anymore and this causes gold to surge

 

Everybody is giving the bot nuke WAY too much credit. It took three months after the nuke for the prices to go anywhere significantly. The only thing it did was stop the rapid drop in price which started as gold farms suddenly became out of hand around August-September, 2011. However, despite popular belief, the bot farms were only a little part of the big problem.

IMO, the biggest factor was the GP wiping. Not only did the wipes scare people from selling, but it has also removed hundreds of billions from the game. The next most important update was probably the dicing nuke, because the big dice clans made anywhere from 1-20b a day in pure gold. This might seem insignificant, but the bot farms produced mostly items (not gold), so their impact became diluted by the complicated nature of the game's economy. IMO the bot nuke is only third-most important.

 

Yes lol, the bot removal was it, you could bot 10 accounts now playing 10 accounts by yourself would be almost impossible to keep track unless you've mastered the rotation..

 

just like kerokerocola said, i think a big part of it is because of the GP wipes. There are many accounts of bulk buyers/sellers that have been reset/wiped BILLIONS of gold.

 

Its funny how you can sell RSGP for so low then something happens and the price's go higher, Luckily I'm not selling gold.. yet.
