Re: hi. i. rap.
Lucas Bain... you posted here a month or 2 ago about your raps.
I remember well, because I began listening to you and I still listen to a few of your songs that I chucked on my Ipod. I think you got a great rap voice for a white kid, and your songs are very touching and the subject matter is very easy to relate to. Keep rapping dude, you have alot of talent!

This is exactly why I think his stuff is really good. I am so tired of that shitty mainstream, commercial rap that has no talent whatsoever. The music industry these days is just out to suck as much money as possible out of the public, and so they pump out these crappy, untalented so-called "rappers" who all fit the exact same "gangster" image, rap about the exact same things over these boring, repetitive beats, and use autotune or similar programs to mask their shitty voices.
Most of those guys can hardly rhyme, and all they know how to talk about is money, cars, bitches, hanging out at the club etc. And its just so fucking boring to listen to. It is disgusting actually, just how bad music as become.
This kid actually raps about REAL LIFE, real situations, things that almost everybody can relate to. And in my opinion, he does have a good rap voice and his lyrics are deep and heartfelt, and I can feel it.
Just my thoughts.

Re: hi. i. rap.
I remember you from before...Not the greatest stuff out there, but better then a lot of it...you're not really on a "lets make a cd and sell it" type of level imo...
You have a nice voice and you can flow over the beat pretty nicely (some parts where really choppy), your songs are about good shit, but honestly..you need to work on your vocab and multis...
should be in music too tbh

Appreciate the constructive criticism.
I've been writing/rapping for 3 months. I barely know what the hell I'm doing, and I don't know how to mix cool choruses and shit in, so I pretty much just rap. lmao. I know I got a small vocab, and working on multis; will do. Thanks homie.

I know exactly what you mean man. I am a writer myself, except I don't really rap. But I have all sorts of books where I write down things daily.. anything from personal thoughts, to quotes and song lyrics, to poetry, short stories, and just about anything that pops in to my head. I even wrote a rap recently that is meant to go over an Atmosphere beat. I suck at rapping, but maybe someday I will try and actually record it to the music the way I intended it to be
Just keep writing man, it does wonders for your soul. Its one of the best methods of venting that exists, and its so refreshing sometimes to just take the thoughts out of your head and put them onto paper, especially when it feels like you have so many things bouncing around your head at once. Its refreshing, liberating, and grants you a fresh view at your issues from a different perspective.
One of my favourite things about writing aswell, is to come back weeks, months, even years later, and to re-read what you wrote so long ago. If the writing is powerful, it can sometimes transport you back to those exact moments you capture on the paper, the exact emotions you were feeling at the time and the things that you were thinking. That is why I like your music too, you are good at telling stories and giving me a glimpse of what was going through your head at the time. All in all, good work dude Keep it up.

Re: hi. i. rap.
Just some advice: If you're trying to get your own name out there, don't sign up on forums and such using other rappers names like Hopsin, because as i'm sure you know, there's already an upcoming rapper named Hopsin. Just thought I'd put that in, considering if you want your own name to be heard.
But honestly, not bad, better than I thought it would be.

Yeah, I wanna be able to write shit down and take myself back to that place like a year later. All I gotta do is wait like 8 more months; and I'll see if it works! hahaha. Thanks though homie, appreciate it like fuck.

Yeah. I made this account in like February 2011; as a fan of Hopsin.
I started rapping in July 2011; I don't use Hopsin as a 'rap name', I just use my real name 'Lucas Bain'
Thanks though.

Re: hi. i. rap.
I've been listening to your music, and here is my criticism;
You have a nice flow, very catchy; however agreed with an above poster about the voice thing, you need more personality in your rap if you know what I mean. Lil Wayne sounds happy and giddy in his raps for the most part, and that's what set rappers apart.
Also need some more creativity in your rap. I don't know if you light up, but weed really helps me be more creative and makes rapping more fun.

I like it. You've got good flow, and the quality of you singing it is good too.
Do you have a good mic or something?
You have a good voice for rapping too.

Re: hi. i. rap.
Decent man, but like someone previously stated you need a better mic. I used to do the music thing a while back and I used a blue ball mic. Sounded pretty clean and it wasn't that much. Good luck, much respect for doing you.
