Re: what makes a good pvper
Definitely takes practice, and you have have to know how to work your class. Money isn't the issue, (Well it can be but if you're good, you can make the best out of what you have).
You have to know good setups, for weapons, armors, spells... Everything matters.

Re: what makes a good pvper
Good pvpers now adays are people who have great reaction time, and know what to do, and are able to think about how someone else will react, and know what to do to that, IE: when I used to play my rogue, I knew to get a win, an easy thing to do was to get my partner to make their healer use all forms of trinket, or things to remove any CC, then get them locked in a blind, after that it was over, so pvp is more or less, knowing what to do and when to do it, and how people will react to things, another example, everyone should know when going against a rogue, you trinket the kidney, and some people like to time it instantly, so a good thing to do is gouge instead of kidney, making them waste a trinket, THEN kidneying them.

Re: what makes a good pvper
What makes a good PvP'er?- Experience
- Patience
- Skill
- Practice
- Speed
- Good reaction
- Clear mind
The above said are not the only things that encases what a good PvP'er is, but a generalization of what is needed. Also, you want to have PvP Gear for Resilience, so you won't be hit as often. Everything socketed and enchanted as well, and branch off from there with lots of practice.
I'm not even close to perfecting my Rogue yet. I had to face a Prot Warrior earlier today with 29,000 health unbuffed. I only have 18,7000 health, and I was only able to get him down to 3K. Not bad for a Rogue vs. Plate, but I still should have beaten him, because I accidentally changed my action bar, and didn't react properly.
Practice makes perfect. Good luck. :]

Re: what makes a good pvper
A "good" PvP-er depends on how much one will know his/her class, reaction times, and good decision making on what spell to use at the right time, or when to trinket, etc.
You're gonna need muchos resilience depending on what you are. Personally, I play a priest, and PvP gear is so far the only way to NOT get gibbed in arenas and BG's.

What makes a good PvPer? Comp in terms of Arenas, gear/class in terms of Battlegrounds, and getting the jump in World.

Re: what makes a good pvper
There are three pivotal aspects of PVP:
- Knowing the class mechanics of every class flawlessly
- Knowing your own class flawlessly
- Great reaction time and anticipating certain abilities

If you think a mage should be utilising Frostfire bolt in PVP as their staple spell you should not be on this thread.
