Account Upgrades

ok so in rs market "Account Upgrades" section theres a rule that says you're not allowed to buy/sell/advertise pin sales.

some people in there are selling sms upgrades, but arent sms upgrades and pin upgrades basically the same? well i thought it was until a mod told me sms are allowed?

when you upgrade by sms dont you get a pin? and im pretty sure thats where the term "pin upgrades" came from.

so anyway.. are sms upgrades allowed or not? kinda confused lol >_<

 

I think the whole concept of "pin sales" are very confusing and that there needs to be a mod that can expand on this so that anything similiar to it can become easily distinguished.

 

pin lines were illegally obtained 'testing phone numbers' from corrupt employees at phone companies, or the SMS companies themselves.

Using these illegal numbers, people could get unlimited SMS upgrades FOR FREE.

Now if a person uses their own phone, for which they legally pay the bills for, and get someone an SMS upgrade, that is all fair game. There is no way to know/differentiate between them really though.

Also as far as I know no pin lines (or pin line upgrade sellers) exist right now (if they did they would sell for SUPER cheap etc etc)

 

There's no difference between the two, they're just called "upgrades" to avoid legal issues.

 

there is, mods just avoid banning him although they all know he uses it.

 

Well all know some members have to use lines or SMS upgrades, but legally we keep it to upgrades to avoid the legality of it.
