    Paypal: Chargebacks and Limitations

You forgot to mention that ppl can have one bank account tied to paypal, then pay u thru paypal, then they can ask their bank to either block the payment to paypal or cancel that account and make a new one before paypal charges it.

Very helpful guide, would charge backs still work if you close your paypal account (not verified) before the buyer tries a chargeback?

If he didn't sent the money from a different IP, it was sent as a gift, can he win the dispute? (no notes were included)

Something you should add that is very important.

Never accept two payments of the same exact amount in a row. You're virtually defenseless against this too as someone can easily say one of the two was a mistake. This actually occurred to me the other day, but I legitimately accidentally sent two payments.

You can't do much. Gifts are not refundable unless you go to illegal methods, or unless you admit to paypal that you were violating their ToS and using a gift to pay for an item. Even then, they won't refund it unless you can prove the item was tangible and that it was never shipped.

Thank you for this. Earlier in the thread you said don't use gifts, but in the post above it seems like it's now safer to use the gift option to reduce chance of chargeback?

    Is that correct?

It's really no different either way. It depends on the person. Make sure you trust them as an individual. See if they're trying to rush the trade, if they'll verify their identity via a phone call or photo ID, etc.

The reason I say there's no difference is because a gift payment can be claimed as unauthorized like a goods payment. You can secure goods payments from item not received by making a note that it's a virtual good. Therefore, it's on the same level of security as a gift payment. The difference is:

You also aren't supposed to accept gifts for anything besides gifts between IRL friends and family. Doing them for other purposes leads to a limitation. A business wouldn't last very long.

Alright, thank you very much for that response.

I notice you're a middleman, how much do you typically charge?

I'm looking to sell a bulk amount of 07 gold, if you were to recommend a buyer to me, off the top of your head- who would it be?

Are you allowed to recommend, or do you have to remain unbiased.

    Thank you for your help.

IGotTheMoves: I charge 10%, but if you sell to a major seller like RsUltimate there's no need for a middleman. Watch out for imposters though. :)
