Question HELP on buying a Custom Built Computer

Hey everyone, I'm looking to buy a custom built Computer that will run 2 - 3 monitors & be able to play driving/racing games & to be able to edit videos & photos. My budget will be about £600 - £700 ($960 - $1,200). Hope this isn't too much for my budget if so just able to do one of the thing I ask for. Also I have got the monitors all ready.

Can anyone give me idea on the specs I need?

Thank You

P.S Don't care about the look of the case at the moment.

i5 2500k
8gig ddr3 ram(gskill or corsair make good ram)
1tb HDD
standard DVD drive
P67 or Z68 socket 1155 motherboard(evga, asus, asrock, msi, gigabyte are the best brands imo)
750w PSU(seasonic, corsair, antec, silverstone best brands imo)
AMD 6950 2gig or 6970 2gig depending what you can fit in.
HAF 922, any corsair case, Antec 902, CM690II few other nice cases that i cant think of
Coolermaster Hyper212+ heatsink to help cool your cpu.

Anyone else going to give rough estimates DO NOT suggest a nvidia card, you will need SLi(2cards) to have 3monitors, whislt AMD you only need one card hence why I'm suggesting the 6950 & 6970, make sure it's 2gig vram too, will help out running at 5760*1080(just assuming you'll be using 3x 1080p monitors )

Hold on are you wanting to include the monitors in your budget, or just the actual computer?

I hope not. He doesn't say include the prices of monitors in it so I doubt it.

Unfortunately, I don't think your budget will allow to play at 3x1080p with decent settings/FPS. Best case scenario, you're going to have a Radeon HD 6970, which isn't going to be anywhere near enough to power 3 screens at 1080p. You're going to want to Crossfire 2x6970s minimum to get an enjoyable experience IMO unless you plan on playing some pretty dated games. DiRT 3 (relatively recent game) for example is pretty optimized, but not THAT optimized lol.

Maybe take a look at some of these builds.

http://www.sythe.org/9831013-post15.html

I'd probably go with build 3 and the first gpu choice. If you'd like to use the whole $1200 budget, you should be able to get a bit more.

As I usually specify, I'm not saying they're the best builds, but they're a few I came up with a while ago for a $1000 budget.

I don't mind if their are not full HD. Plus I don't play games like Dirt 3 yet. But play like driving simulations like flight simulator X & other game around that area for now but planing on playing new games like Dirt 3. Plus I will be upgrading all of this later next year when I get a bit more money to play games like Dirt 3. Plus Give me a budget on how much I will need for 3x1080p & I see if I can get the money.

This, except try to get 6950s that can be unlocked to 6970 BIOS. Best price to performance ratio and it should tear through DiRT 3 at max settings even at 5760x1080. The new NFS game coming out based on the Frostbite 2.0 Engine might be a different story though.

Slightly off topic but I would recommend buying the parts from ebuyer.com if you are from the UK, although always check the price in comparison to amazon. That'll probably get you the most for your money.

I always buy my parts of scan.co.uk or ebuyer. I don't real just amazon for computer parts. But order everything else of amazon because their always got the cheapest price.

Alright, I've heard good things about scan, and ebuyer and amazon have been brilliant in my books. Just go with whatever site offers the part cheapest.
