iPhone help!
For a few days now; when I click the Phone option on my iPhone, I cannot do anything. It's frozen in the middle of all my contacts. I try to click Favourites, Recents, Keypad and Voicemail but nothing happens. I'm wondering whether anyone knows how to fix this problem. If you could help me out, it would be greatly appreciated.

Re: iPhone help!
It may be an issue with the coding, have you upgraded to 4.0.1?

I don't want to restore because I will lose everything; contacts, apps etc. I was trying to see if I could do it without doing that.

I haven't upgraded, no. May that be the problem?

Maybe, my friend's music player kept messing up on 3.1.3 so he upgraded to 4.0 and it worked perfectly again.
Also, your not jailbroken, are you? Cause if you are then upgrading isn't really an option.

I am, although I have no knowledge about it what so ever. It was my uncle that jailbroke it for me.

Hmm, OK. Well then upgrading could be a little risky and upgrading could make you lose your Jailbreak.

Re: iPhone help!
Can't you just turn it off by pressing both the home and power button at the same time? I jailbroke mine and it froze, I just turned it off completely and restarted.

A hard reset? If it's a software issue that generally won't fix it...but Its worth a try as it doesn't damage your iPhone at all. Kadaj, if you do do this when you turn it on it'll take 5-10 minutes to start up again. Don't worry you don't lose anything.

Re: iPhone help!
First of all, what kind of iPhone is it?
And, put your cable into your computer and look if there is an update, then update it.
Not sure if you lose your stuff or not, also, if it is an iPhone 4, the warranty goes void once it's jailbroken.
And a hard-reset worked on my old iPhone.

If he updates it via itunes it will install a newer version of software, therefore deleting his current software. He'll lose all his information which he doesn't want to do; like he stated.

Re: iPhone help!
Yes, but if you saved a back-up, all your contacts, music, etc. will be saved and you can perform the update and sync them back onto the phone.
