Another minecraft subforum suggestion
Hey, I'll type this out quickly, as I'm in college right now, and will elaborate later if needed. I propose the addition of a subforum in the minecraft forum named "Schematics". If this is added, there will be a place for me and other minecraft users to quickly post download links to their schematic files of buildings they've constructed on minecraft.
---ONLY READ BELOW IF YOU'RE CURIOUS ABOUT SCHEMATICS---
A schematic from minecraft is a chunk of your world, selected using SP Commands and worldedit for single player, or Essentials (or a like-plugin) and worldedit for multiplayer if you have access. When you have the chunk completely selected with your wand, you would type //save [filename], and if you've set up your server right, it would save into a file that you should have created named "schematics" (same goes for single player, just add in a new folder named "schematics" into the %appdata% .minecraft folder [for window users])
This will automatically create a file type, unique to minecraft. Anyone who has access to this file now can copy it into their schematics folder, use the command //load [filename] and it will load up the schematic. Then it's as simple as using the command //paste, and it will stick it into your world within seconds, whole and perfectly intact.
---
Schematics are essential for people who want really cool-- and extremely large-- buildings without having to google search block maps, or just making it on their own by looking at a screenshot of the building they want to replicate. It's also nice for people who want to coolaberate on a building, and then paste it into their single player world for their own enjoyment as well.
It'd be a great addition I think. If we had this, I know I'd be dumping ALL of my creations into it for everyone to use if they'd like. I don't think the addition of this subforum is a waste of time or space. What do you think?

Re: Another minecraft subforum suggestion
Support, I love to make things and do schematics for MC. It has been a while, but I might get a new version of MC Schematics and start building again.

I would support this, nice to see that the Minecraft is gaining enough activity to be granted more sections. Plus it'd be useful for anyone who can't be assed building their own structures.

Re: Another minecraft subforum suggestion
I support this 100%, it would be very helpful and im sure would gain activity.
Also, if this section is made, a sticky needs to be written up that gives a tutorial on how to create/upload/save schematics.

Already have one drafted yo. If this is declined by upper staff, I'll just put it in the forum we already have.

Great Idea. Could use a schematic for a redstone calculator or something

Re: Another minecraft subforum suggestion
The only problem with this is that it will contain download links and a potential to spread Virus's.

Perhaps a system could be put in place so only mods can post straight away and edit their posts. While non-mods must wait until a mod approves their post or edit. This could take a bit longer but it would stop viruses from being posted.

If people aren't smart enough to scan for viruses then they should be downloading something imo
