Many of you people out there may not consider badminton a sport, I know this as the majority of my friends that are European do not consider badminton a sport, every time I mention it they start to ridicule me, and the sport.
What are your opinions on this sport?

Here are some facts about badminton:
-It is the worlds fastest racket sport. The current on court smash (during a match) record lies with the Indonesian player "Taufik Hidayat" at 305 km/ph, The fastest off court smash (not playing/not under pressure) is by the Malaysian player "Tan Boon Heong" resting at 421 km/ph
-A badminton player can cover more than 2 km in just one match.
-Once known as battledore and shuttlecock, the game as we know it today took its name from Badminton House in Gloucestershire, England home of the Duke of Beaufort.
-over 147 countries are active in the sport.
