[I've searched and can't find a thread dedicated to Gaelic football, so I made one]
Anyone ever played it/heard of it? It's an unprofessional sport and it's mainly played here in Ireland. It's a bit like Aussie Rules in a way. It's played 2 teams of 15. The formation of both teams is always the same - 1 goalkeeper, 3 full backs, 3 half backs, 2 midfielders, 3 half forwards and 3 full forwards.
Just to explain:
To pick the ball up, you have to put your foot under it, and basically kick it into your hands.
You can run with the ball, but every 4 steps you either have to bounce it or solo it.(i.e. drop it from your hands onto your foot, and flick it back into your hands.)
You can't throw the ball, you can either kick-pass or hand-pass. A hand pass must be with a closed fist and with a striking action.
You can score goals or points. A goal is kicking the ball into the net, a point is kicking the ball over the crossbar (between 2 top-posts) A point is worth 1 point, and a goal is worth 3.
You cannot score goals with your hand, but can hand-pass the ball over the crossbar to score a point.
It's somewhere between a contact and a no-contact game. The referee will let some things slide and it can get very rough.
It's hard to find a video of it, because it doesn't get alot of publicity, but here's the best I can find:

So what do you guys think?
