So apparently, the Mayan calendar was misread by AT LEAST 50-100 years, if not even more. Therefore, the new findings show that we are at least 50 years before the end of the world, probably even a few thousand years. It is a new finding. It was a news story that I heard a couple weeks ago, but still, this is intriguing that the calendar was misread by so many years. But apparently, the world is December 2012,

Worst thing is. SOME people actually believe in this event which will cause people to sucicide now imagine if it wasn't going to happen and all those people who killed them selves were because of a calender that is misread.

But to be honest, who says it relies on a calendar? Maybe the date 2012 has been purposely drilled into our head through media attention and word of mouth and the origination of the date came from our leaders who plan on doing something big on that date that could very well be "the end of the world" or "the end of this world" (the world as we know it) for a lot of people.

Seems more plausible than some ancient civilization with enough foresight to predict a meteor crash or some huge catastrophic event more than a thousand years ahead of time.

December 21'st 2012 is a real date and real events will occur on that day. However, the "dooms day" rumors regarding this date is just complete bull crap. This thread is not worth of something for all as there is no evidence to support a dooms day event on that date to begin with.

No the Mayan calendar is not evidence to support the dooms day claim.

Its all BS. They just made a whole industry out of the date. First they make a movie, then they bring out new technology fast, before 21st December 2012 so people buy it thinking that the world is going to end. Also some people might suicide so it decreases the earths over growing population.
