Boys = Assholes?

I will keep this topic very short and to the point.

People think boys are assholes and have no feelings. But that's not true and there's even research to show that it takes boys longer to get over a break-up than girls. So my question: why are boys considered assholes and heartless?

 

Because it's society's age-old stereotype that men are the labourers..the leaders..the toughest and strongest of the two sexes. Women work at home, obsess over boys in magazines and all (stereotypically, again). If men SHOW their feelings (cry etc.) they are ridiculed; therefore SOME women think men simply have no feelings..

Gender is learned. When you are born you don't "act" like a boy/girl. It's through conditioning, it's how people teach their kids how to act. Treat the boy one way, treat the girl the other.

I'm 21 and Have not cried in 7 years and refuse to cry ever again because, as a guy we are not supposed to cry.

completely agree wit you. I used to be very sensitive few years ago. But now I know better. I haven't cried in about 4 years now no matter how much i'm dying from inside i don't show it.

 

Sometimes a man just has to cry, don't judge him, because some circumstances are too much to handle..for any man.

i last cried in 2008 my dog died and i was really upset (but only cried when i was alone in my room) Had to watch them inject the dog and watch her drift off.

idk what you consider crying but my eyes wept when i watched Marlee and me soon after my dog getting put down.

 

Not completely through conditioning. Thats like 20% of the reason we act the way we do.

Gender stereotypes are learned at a young age. If a young boy gets mad, he's expected to tough it up and take it out with rage. If a young girl gets mad, the parent's expect the girl to take it out emotionally by crying.

 

Well Technically, the asshole has the most feeling.. the body has alot more nerve endings around the anus.

But all joking aside, Its just stereotypical gender-related behaviour, men are expected to be breadwinners, and females are expected to be housewives, however in the past couple of decades its been changing, i'd say in 20 years it will the opposite

I don't think if you have no feelings towards a pity subject such as a break up, that would automatically make you an asshole? This topic is so blunt, who cares what anyone else thinks?

Girls always get looked down as slutty, bitchy and only good for one reason, which is to cater for men. I think the answer to your question is, that most people are judgmental bigots and will always be.

 

Guys shouldn't be over sensitive and bitchy as girls.

Girls have more oestrogen than boys. Oestrogen makes people emotional.
