How to raise your paypal spending limit

This guide is focused on the members of sythe who do not have a bank account and do not have access to a credit card of there own. As these are the only ways to get your paypal account balance raised you may ask your self, how exactly can i get my paypal account spending limit raised? Well wonder no further.

requirements:
- You must have a paypal account
- access to a computer
- enough money to purchase a gift card

Step 1 - Creating a paypal account: (proceed to step 2 if you already have a paypal account)

Go to Paypal and click "sign up"



Click get started under personal



After this you will be required to fill out all of your information, after doing so proceed to step 2.

Step 2 - accruing your ticket to raising your limits:

You will now need to purchase a giftcard/credit card. These can be bought at most wal-marts,superstores,7/11's and any other convince store.

- Visa pre-paid gift card



I do believe the smallest one you can purchase is 25$.

Step 3 - Applying your card:
Log in to paypal and go to your account, once there go to your profile and hover above it until a list is displayed, click"Add or Edit Credit Card"




Type in your credit card information here and then proceed to the next step.


Step 4 -Verifying:
go to your profile and then to add or edit credit card under profile.

once there underneath the column action you will see the option to complete your verification, click this.



They will then take money from your credit card balance (which will later be refunded via your paypal balance) they will tell you that there will be a code that is included on your bill, which you can enter at the same location. Almost right after this is done you should be able to check your balance of your credit card online. It should say something like *PAYPAL*1023 the numbers included in this are what you need to enter to get your paypal spending limit raised.

How to check your balance/find your paypal code for verification:

There are two way to do this.
- 1. On the back of your pre-paid card there will be a number that is specifically for checking your balance.
- 2. On the back of your card there will be a website which will allow you to check your balance and review all of your transactions. You will have to type in your credit card number and your control code (on the back of the card). Depending on the card you may have to enter in the exp. date.

Using your card online::
Some cards can not be used online so be sure to read before purchasing the card. Some cards also need to be registered online via the site on the back of your card before you can use it.

Best card to use:
In my personal experience the vanilla master card is the best one to use as it can be used online and does not need to be registered online before you can use it.

Easy guide but you should explain which prepaid credit card's work the best for this because some prepaid credit card's cannot be used online. Such as the American Express one. Also how do you check your balance online? You should mention that in your guide as well because if you can't provide the details for the 2 deposits that PayPal makes then you cannot verify your account.

 

The two links i included are the only two cards in which i have tried this for, which is why they are the only ones included. I will do some research soon and see if i can come up with a list of ones that work don't work. i will also add right now how to check your balance.

 

Hey. Quite helpful guide. To verify your paypal is a quite important thing to do. However there is a step by step on paypal.com which does tell you how to, but this guide does I guess explains in detail and which credit cards to use etc, which is good.

'will be a code that is included on your bill' I wouldn't really call the bank statement a bill. I'd mention how long it takes for the bank statement to come. It's dependant on activity of your account I think, and it took me three months, because I didn't add, or remove money for my bank for a while.
Double colon I saw. "Using your card online::" Remove one.

When you've put:

I'd just make text saying something like 'here' for example then add the link there as it doesn't;t look very appealing. Here is a guide how to which I made.

Center the text. Good use of colours as well, very flamboyant and interesting. I would add pictures of the screen telling you to add the two money units you received on your bill. I'd add more pictures generally as well.
The guide isn't bad, good attempt. I just feel it's quite unnecessary since paypal tells you how to do it on their website.

 

I think you sort of missed the point of this guide, it is not so much how to verify your paypal in general but more of a guide on how to do it if you do not have a credit card or a bank account of your own.

Also when you refer to the bill i think you are thinking of when you verify your paypal account via your bank account. When doing in with a giftcard it is an instant transaction where they withdraw a certain amount from your paypal account and on the transaction there is a code. Also just as a side note if you want your bank statement quicker you can go to your bank and print one from the machine, at my bank it's free of cost but i know at my gf's bank it cost 1.50 for it. But that is if you are using your bank account with a giftcard you can check it online instantly, usually takes about 15 mins to show up.

Will I still have the $2000 limit or will it be down to $0 if I remove the card?

 

If you remove the card it will go back to $0

and this doesn't verify your paypal, it just adds a spending limit.

I use the vanilla visa card i get from 7-11 also

This topic is seemingly misconceived. I have tried this in the past and it has failed. It does not actually verify it but raises spending limits and gives you funds for your PayPal. If you check PayPal now the only ways to get "verified" is to either set up a PayPal credit card through master card or set up your bank account. However I tried this guide and put a visa gift card on my paypal and it still looks like this



and you can see the prepaid card is still there



On to the guide critiques. Besides not actually getting the job done, I thought the guide was aesthetically pleasing and you did a good job using fonts and colors. I also like how you use the center option on your guides, makes everything look neater.

It does raise your spending limits but does not lift them or verify the account depending on your location. Maybe for Canada, but not for the U.S.

 

Does the money from the giftcard add in to ur balance in your paypal? so for example if i bought a 50 giftcard and added it to paypal would the money be added to my paypal balance?
