    Guide to Sythe Success!

Hello and welcome to my guide to a having a successful career at Sythe. After receiving a Temp ban for a few posts, I realized that I had never really taken the time to actually read and look over the rules, or try to understand them.

I also didn’t really understand how many aspects of the website function, so I looked over everything. This is a guide which can clarify certain aspects of Sythe, and point you in the right direction for other things.

    RULES, FAQ

To start off, you will want to read the official Sythe rules and FAQ. They are located at the top of the forums, here.

The FAQ answer almost any question a new Sythe user can have, and includes basic descriptions of the use of the functions and tools that the forum has. It also gives a basic breakdown regarding what Sythe is, and some of the technical information as well.

The rules are another must read. After going over the rules, I realized I was guilty of breaking them, partly because I had never taken the time to read them! So take the time to read them, and it will help you out in the long run. After reading them, I thought of a simple memory device for them (to avoid getting yourself in trouble like I did!). Just remember the three S’s.

The first S is STOP. Before making a post, take an extra few seconds to think about what you are saying. A few seconds of clarity will make you review the post.

The second S is spam. Is the post that you are about to make on topic? Is it relevant? Does it positively contribute to the essence of the topic, or is it simply a one or two word response? Make sure that if you are posting something, that it is ON TOPIC. Otherwise, you may receive an infraction for spamming.

Another good hint to not spamming is to ensure that whenever you enter a forum with the intention of posting in it, read the STICKYS of that forum. The stickys are important topics or information that someone on the staff has deemed important enough to “sticky” it to the top of the forum.

Reading the stickys is always helpful, and can provide you with important information. Always read the stickys before you post in a forum!

The last S is for scamming. Is what you are about to do a form of scamming? This category includes a WIDE variety of violations which fall under the scamming category, so be sure to review that section of the rules carefully!

    FINDING OUT WHO’S WHO

The next part of our journey will take us to the off topic forum. If you don’t see the forum, it can be found HERE. From here, we want to view two specific stickys.

The first sticky underlined will tell you all the information about who is on the Sythe staff. The second sticky is EXTREMELY helpful. After having browsed the forums for a little while, you will begin to see lots on big, colorful icons next to certain users names. This second sticky goes over EVERY icon, and what its significance is. Review those carefully to get a better understanding of what people have done to earn those big colorful icons.

    POSTING ON SYTHE

Well, congrats if you have made it this far. You have read (and hopefully understand) the rules and FAQ of Sythe. You know who works on the staff, and you know how to identify the various Sythe staff members and contributors. You know to read important information, such as the stickys, whenever you enter a forum. It looks like you are ready to begin posting on Sythe!

If you plan on making a stay here at Sythe, I would recommend starting off on the right foot, by doing several things when you post. The first thing I would suggest is to use proper grammar! No, I am not saying that you are going to get flamed if you use a colon :)) instead of a semi colon (;), but if you want people to take you and your posts SERIOUSLY, then making sure to use basic punctuation, capitalization, and sentence structure will make people more likely to respond to you.

In addition to grammar, another thing that will go a long way is respectful posting. Coming onto a forum as a leecher and posting offensive things is great way to quickly become disliked in the community. If your posts are respectful, relevant, and well written, you will be off to a great start on your posts!

    TRADING ON SYTHE

The Markets section of forums is generally one of the most popular sections at any given time.

The majority of new users who come to Sythe typically arrive due to the attractiveness of the large, active market section. There are several excellent guides out there on methods of safe trading, and how to develop good trading habits, and avoid being scammed. Therefore, to avoid redundancy, I will exclude good methods of trading, and will refer to you a detailed guide HERE

I can however recommend to follow the previous guidelines I described about posting on Sythe, since they apply to trading as well. It will always reflect better on you when you are a respectful trader! Also, for most trades, it is standard to use Paypal. Simple google searches can lead you to a basic guide of using paypal. Or, you can find a basic guide HERE

Well I think that about covers it for your introductory guide to success on Sythe! With his permission, I am also going to refer you to a great guide on how to start making money on Sythe by Silrisil. That guide can be found HERE.

If you have any questions regarding my guide, or anything else that may have perked your interest, feel free to ask. Thanks!
