New Account Creation.

In the past few months I have seen many new accounts created. Many of them were scammers and advertisers. Some of them were actually legit.

My idea would be to have new account creation not able to post for a week. Only be aloud to send PM messages and look at forums and threads. I think this idea would fix all the leechers trying to "buy Sythe accounts" and spam people's threads to get their post count up to then scam Legit sythe members. This idea would keep the scammers/spammers out only because they wouldn't be able to post within account creation. The past few weeks I my threads have been spammed with "Adding you now" "i'll buy adding your msn" "I offer 5 dollars -.-" all of these messages came from leechers. Not one leecher actually added me nor bought my accounts I had for sale. They were all out to get post count up to look legit on sythe's site.

Giving a trial base period for new accounts would take most of the false advertisement off this website. And stop people from making more then one account to either, spam, advertise, or give false vouches to another account they could own.

This is just an idea I would consider just to reduce the problems going on with spam.

People who make new accounts can spend the week reading the rules of this site to not get banned in the future many people create an account and just start posting and then get banned. And yell at a mod because they didnt read any rules.

You can't ask for no negative feedback as its a suggestion.

I think that this is a good idea in a way but its not fair on those legit members they'd just get bored and leave if they couldn't post.

Just IP ban the people who do the things you say and advertise and then they wont be able to make a new acc and return from the same ip.

If you are a legit sythe member you have no need to make a new account if you created one once before. People who create a new account got banned for some reason so I still think it is fair to those who do the right thing and don't get their account banned. And the ones who did get their account banned should suffer for doing what they did to get banned.

Also anyone can get around an IP ban there are so many scammers/spammers creating new accounts the mods couldnt keep up with the IP bans

Crayola, a new member wouldn't mind waiting a week if he was really legit.

Just look at the statistics, 100 members online and 300 guests online. Shows that sythe is prone to scammers.

 

I don't know how you people can support this... I mean tbh, it sounds horrible! The idea to not let a person post for a week does nothing but annoys them. If they wished to scam, they'd make an account, go scam some other site, then come to here a week later. If a person wanted to scam, they'd go to that extent. If they take the time to make shitty posts acting like their buying stuff, they'd take the time to wait out their 'trial' period. If there was a new rule I had to put into play, it would be a mandatory way to read the rules. Like when you enter a section for the first time (ex. the black market) it pops up with the black market threads with a continue button at the bottom which is unclickable until a certain time period passes.

 

Then go make your own suggestion. I'm looking for idea's and suggestions to make mine better not a handout.

Besides if they go scam another site they aren't scamming here so whats the problem with that? If they are gone on another site for a week so be it.

Atleast it is keeping sythe members from being scammed for a short period of time. Actually shows the legit account creation from the bots and scammers.

Register and your like Time to get involved in the community.
You log-in.
Go to post.
YOU CANNOT POST FOR 1 WEEK.
You think "wtf is this crap".
You leave.
Go to another forum.

Sythe will lose people because as old people leave no new people will join.

 

Whats the point in a suggestion if we cant give Negative Feedback ?

All you doing is saying you cant take it about how wrong this is and dont want anyone to go against you.

Well, I'm a leecher, but I am part of the low percentage of leechers that dont spam or scam. I am just getting reputation up with GFX, made a free signature for a Guru, and 1 for a Member. I support aswell, but I think it should be about 3 days, since if you wanna spam you wont wait 3 days, but 1 week is too much for people like me, that actually want to help and be a part of the community.

While I was staff, I suggest a similar idea that got denied. The reasoning included:

• Too much work
• Would discourage new members
• Way too many accounts register daily and most aren't spammers

 

It's discouraging, and its extremely retarded and most people will forget about the site if they can't post in week's time. Besides, I created this account to sell a runescape account and I would be unhappy if I had to wait one week.

 

Agreed. It's not just leechers tho. hanaan posts on everything saying "will buy it now added". He had about 325 posts this morning now he has 450+. Not meaning to hate on older members but its not just leechers! Not trying to defend leechers either cause people with 2 posts saying "I don't go first under any circumstances" and "I only give away my msn in pms" cause its a msn they used on other accounts. But think about it wouldnt they sythe acc buyers and stuff just make a ton of accounts 7 days early! Like that lol guy, just make Lol_1,LOL_2,lol_3 and then just wait 7 days?

 

I think this is a bad idea.
Think of at this, Let's say a Legit Member comes on, and sees this, Most likely he will leave. This will cause less people to join Sythe.
I'm a leecher too, but I'm going to gain my reputation sooner or later.

Stop with this fucking censorship. I'm honestly sick of your ass. I see you backseat modding for post count everywhere i go.

On topic: The idea is faulty. It will discourage many people from joining the forums. It is annoying and superflous, as in all honesty, who gives a crap about spammers? You can just ignore them/they get banned nearly instantly.
It is also superflous because advertisers will make loads of multiple accounts (15+) every day and then while waiting for them to work will post on other forums.
