Make it against the rules for the photo's to not be re-posted outside faces of sythe

Theres a thread in the Off-Topic section called "Faces of Sythe" were users are encouraged to post photographs of themselves so the community gets to see the face behind the username. There are some rules on the thread that are basically to protect the user from having their confidence shattered which basically outlines that users can not post hateful/mean comments or alter the photo or deface it in anyway.

For the 2nd time now I have become the victim of people trolling and hating on my photos because they are allowed to do it OUTSIDE the thread, which doesn't make sense at all. I did not post the picture so people could stick a fucking fat cartoon character next to my name and say there is a resemblance, I didn't post the picture so that admins can post derogatory demoralising comments about me outside the thread knowing i can't say anything back or get banned for 'Trolling a mod'

I did not post the picture so that people would post my facebook and completely un-anonymise me.

I deleted the images, but no it doesn't end there, kids think they're funny by saving the images and re-uploading them so that I have absolute 0 power to take down the image or stop it from being re-posted. Somehow this is still allowed because I "Already posted it to Sythe". There has been more than 1 person banned for posting pictures of me, it's exhuasting and scary, when does it end. And seriously, there is more ways to troll in spam forum then post pictures of me over and over and over..

Tl;dr My suggestion is that the official Sythe.org rules are altered so that reposting of the persons image anywhere else but in the faces of sythe thread without their permission is not allowed and results in infraction for the first offence, 3 day ban second offence.

I realise this suggestion has been 90% bitch and 10% suggestion but I just think adding in personal experience will help the higher-ups understand why the new rule is needed, surely i cant be the only one being the victim of this.

 

I agree with you, meaning its demoralising to post a picture then have a the whole forum dig into it, and that should be against the rules forum wide.

However, personally speaking; if you didn't care/take things so personally, people wouldn't even do it to you in the first place. You're basically encouraging people to do it by giving so many fucks. Try to ignore things and lighten up, people only do it as they know they will get a reaction from you.

Why? I hope you realize that this "Suggestion" has only happened to you and nobody else, why the hell do you think anybody would support this? Simply asking a mod to tell them to take it down seems much easier.

 

You should really just post your images in the personal support portion of the forums if you want people banned for it.

I do support this because nobody should have the right to use your image for anything. But what did you expect when you posted it? You're by no means a person people favor around here so you should expect to be trolled. It's how you handle it that defines you, if you let people bother you with shit like this it will never stop. Perhaps a pm to a moderator would have sufficed...?

 

Did he do that? Oh well, must have been for a very short while.

 

So let's make it an official rule. Therefore in the future, people will know not to post these images and we can save some moderators time. Sure it's only happened in this case, but it's bound to happen again sometime.

 

I disagree, photo's posted in there are you opening them up to the public domain, based upon that and your actions YOU made YOURSELF a target. This isn't elementary school and I don't think that people should get a rule for them specifically because they got made fun of and it hurt their feelings. If you can't handle being made fun of then don't make fun of others and if you don't want people to make fun of your looks then don't put your looks in the public domain.

You're revealing it to the public. If you can't handle any repercussions, then don't post it. Simple as that.

 

I support this, I mean if someone does this its technically an offence of demoralization and also it's considered horrasment. Basically if you don't have permission to use something that isn't yours, you shouldn't use it. What if you were in Deathsnova's shoes. I know i would be feeling the same way he does. You have my support with this

 

Well the fact of the matter is that some people won't ever be in Deathsnova's shoes because we can actually handle being made fun of when we make fun of others.

Its a stupid rule that doesn't stop anything, if you posted it in there and people want to make fun of you they will just link the individual post as opposed to relinking the picture and the result is STILL the same.

Making more rules to keep people from being made fun doesn't work, been proven time and time again in schools. People just have to grow up and realize that if you are going to be playing with fire you will eventually get burned.

 

If you post it on this site, you're agreeing that there is fucking idiots that will troll the shit out of you just because that's what happens. I agree with you that you shouldn't be allowed to put it in your signature, but besides that it's all up to you. No one forced you to post a picture of yourself.

 

I agree with Annex's statements. Once a picture is posted on Sythe by an individual, everyone can use it within the forum rules. The spam forum permits users to get a bit more rough. If you're not a fan that's understandable; you should simply avoid going to the forum. Don't waste your time getting involved with that portion of the community if, well, you don't wish to be a target at one point or another.

This is disgusting.. Not just what's happening to you, but how nick & annex are for it.. Especially considering you deleted it so this wouldn't happen.

I find it completely ironic that you're not supposed to troll and other things OUTSIDE OF THE SPAM FORUM, yet, when somebody posts something outside of the spam forum and is trying his hardest to not be trolled for it, in the spam forum, yet he still is.

I don't know anything about deahtsnova or what he's done to be so hated, but I don't think it should be taken like this.

I'm not agreeing to this because of deathsnova specifically, but I'll get to that in just a moment..

Now onto deathsnova.. Somebody earlier in this thread (I can't remember who), said that the spam forum is rough and if you'e not a fan, don't go. If you don't like everything the spam forum stands for, why are you even in it? I understand it's a part of the community and everybody has a right to go to it, which they do, including you, but at this point, why would you even want to be there?

It looks like to me that you're just asking to start shit up at this point.. You're saying one thing and doing another. I would personally be completely on board for a ban from the spam forum if you do anything like this again.. You're bringing this on yourself with this post.. You wouldn't be if this was just a suggestion and you never entered the spam forum again, but you do enter it..

If you never want to be ragged on again, leave the spam forum. I'm not supporting this suggestion because of you, I'm supporting this because of the concept of the suggestion.. The faces of Sythe thread was made to become more active in the community, and to get to know each other.. To be trolled by these pictures is ridiculous.

 

Honestly I agree with cosrob and punker...its true that deathsnova and a few others are very annoying, but messing with them past a certain point is bullying.

Most people that are annoying are seeking attention, because something in their life isn't good.

I don't mind people picking and messing around, but it is sad to see it being taken it too far.



I guess my post is not so much about the suggestion but the bullying in general that happens on sythe to some people.

When people post their pictures to the thread, they arent posting it because they want to make themself a target for hate speech, i didn't post it because i wanted everyone to grief me and ruin my confidence.

I realise that sythe isn't elementeary school, but there is a line between playfully trolling and down-right bullying other members for the sake of wanting to ruin their day and make them feel like crap. Did my feelings get hurt when giddy posted the screen cap of my Facebook? I didn't have a bruised ego, i was legitimately fucking scared.

How am i not supposed to go there when every 2nd thread is titled "Look at deathsnova" "Deathsnova doing this lol" "HEY DEATHSNOVA". The facebook photo was deleted by trippin..also grave would like to add this:

Could we at least make a rule that once a person has deleted the photo and asked that it not be reposted that there request is upheld?
Jesus it's not even a huge change, im just asking we alter a minor detail to protect people from being cyber bullied.

 

I completely disagree. The only reason why you are being "bullied" is because you brought it on yourself. If you didn't get on people's nerves so much this thread wouldn't even exist.
