Suggestion: Realm Of The Mad God Section

Well, Realm of the Mad God removed RWT yesterday. The game had over 1000 active forum users who used it to RWT. I myself must of traded over 5,000$ there.

If there's anyone on the staff who knows a lot about the game, then they could work out the specifics of the section. The game doesn't have a "Gold" currency, but you can buy pretty much every item in the game from another user.


It would definitely bring some great users once people found out.

The is relatively popular on here, at least it was a few months back, everyone was playing it. Although activity for the game I don't would warrant its own section. Even in http://www.sythe.org/forumdisplay.php?f=370 there aren't even that many threads for the game at the moment.

 

If you're confident, I'd support a section being made on a trial basis, and if it fails to pick up the threads can be simply merged into the other sales section.

 

It's one of those things where we need to jump on it quick, or someone else will create a section for it and fill that void for RWT. Like said above, if there would be some way for us to advertise on those forums, like adding links in signatures, and we established this ASAP, I think it could take off.

Nothing wrong at all with attracting new members to this site, we can't let this just sit here though or the opportunity will be lost.

 

Nope! It's literally the second day since they removed RWT.

Why would there be threads there? The game actually let you RWT on its own forums.

Exactly, that's why I rushed to suggest it. I think we could definitely get a group of people together to take care of advertising it. We could easily mass PM on the forums, and I know I could spread the word among the top guilds on the game.

 

Mass PMing generally comes off as annoying and if anything would repel people away. If you think you could make it work though then I am all for it, as once again I think this is an amazing opportunity to see some new faces on Sythe. Maybe we could start with having each person that plays this game try and advertise Sythe in their signatures, or have people advertise in-game? Like say you're selling certain items and then direct them to a thread here if they are interested. Basically anything that doesn't come off as annoying would be good publicity.

 

The official realm of the mad god forums are already filled with RWTing and there are other forums that already have active traders and people doing services such as d2jsp. I don't support adding in another section as I do not think it would be active enough to warrant it.

 

I know whatcha mean. I meant it as in PM'ing all of the guys who had huge shops there, because that would make for a great start to the section. I'll draft up some ideas for advertising it if we get the OK from the higher powers on this site.

Maybe you don't realize that I made this thread because they REMOVED RWT. Go on the forums and look, every RWT thread gets locked within minutes and they're going to soon enough give mods the power to just delete the threads. There is NO forum at the moment that you can RWT in ROTMG.

Nah, ROTMG is dead anyways. New devs, Kabam are fucking up the game.

It's true they're locking all RWT threads and trying to put a stop to it, but they're not locking all of the farewell threads. And theres a lot.

 

The game's economy is destroyed. I don't see this working.

 

The game is far from dead. Dead would be like less than a few hundred players a day, but they have about 15 servers with at least 100 people on each of them always. The games definitely not dead. Sure, Kabam is garbage, but if Wildshadow cuts them loose or not, there's still potential literally leaking out of the walls of their studios.

I agree with that, however, with RWT being banned, value of items in terms of money will definitely rise a bit, being done through a black market and all. And this move (removing RWT) is a GIGANTIC move for ROTMG, bigger than almost anything we've seen in months. I think this is the start of something good, and, as stated before, if this turns out to be a huge bust we just move the threads/posts to "Other Game Markets".

 

The game's economy got destroyed, and therefore having a market for it is completely pointless.

 

1,500 active players isn't really an active game, and if the economy is already destroyed it is a bit useless to try and pull people over here. Especially if d2jsp has already been picking up all of the rwt traffic.

 

It's only going to rebuild slowly with RWT not being as easy.

1500 on all the time means at least 10,000 active users. That's a potential 500-1,000 users bringing traffic to Sythe.

 

Yes, but imagine if only a tenth of them came over here, 150 members using the one forum? That's more active than a majority of our sections.

 

But you have to consider that Sythe has no (or very little of a) previous 'tentacle' in that market. A market with previous trading in it actively will be more apt to draw the people there. Chances are we are too late anyway, this is where advertisement comes in. We are a poorly advertised forum that is really only found by people who are wanting a runescape black market and if they come here through any other means it is usually word of mouth. I mean I suppose it wouldn't harm creating a section, but it would just create more work when/if it failed.
