    How to prevent teamviewer scams

    Teamviewer Scams

Teamviewer scams and increasingly common. What this scam consists of is a member joining your teamviewer, and either turning off your computer (to delete evidence of a scam) or locking your mouse/screen and sending themselves money, password files, giving themselves GP. As you can tell, this is not only a serious crime but it needs to be stopped ASAP!

Why do pin sellers use Teamviewer?!
Pin sellers use teamviewer so when they sell you a pin, and it doesn't work they have evidence of it not working and are therefore liable. However, what stops them saying it did work? Nothing, you should always video it.

Why do they NEED to use teamviewer?!
They do, but in no way should they ever need to control your computer! They should be able to simply connect and watch you enter the pin. This is exactly the same evidence wise and it means they can not do anything to your files, computer or accounts!

How will trades work without remote control?
They give you the pin on MSN after connecting to your screen, they then watch you enter it. You should still video the trade at all times, a free video recorder can be found here - Hypercam

Hypercam is low quality and we recommend getting a decent one, I would suggest camtasia studio. In the video, you should show the whole MSN conversation, and them giving you the pin as well as you redeeming it.

    Thanks!

Funny that I was going to make a post asking what the team viewer scam was and this has certainly helped me out. Simple guide which is good with useful images, well done. Wrong section though mate.
