I really didn't want to do this as i've done business with him in the past (bought GP) but here goes..

I purchased an account of R2pleasent for £220 GBP. I could've bought an account of anyone of here and paid significantly less but i bought one of R2pleasent as hes an extremely trusted trader and he said he'd step in/do whatever it takes to get the account back into my hands in the case of the original owner recovering.

long story short, the original owner recovered, r2 says hes unable to do anything as it has been 2-3 years, to be honest it doesnt matter, i paid full cash in the promise of having sole possesion & access to the account regardless of how many years have surpassed. He also clearly stated that he'd do whatever it takes to get the account back into my hands (and that the person he bought the account of was a previous, trusted trader so there was no worrying for me to do).
Furthermore i've tried recovering the account however to no avail as ALL the information he gave me is incorrect (i sent in an appeal for recovery, and denied, the denied section shows you why your appeal was denied and it says everything is incorrect/missing, passwords, membership, creation details, the lot). The screenshots below clearly shows R2pleasent stating the recovery information he provided me was sufficient to recover the account.

    Here are the relevant screenshots:

Confirming that he is unable to do anything unable to do anything:

also big thanks to Sin666 for helping me out

The recovery process has changed enough in 3 years that it might make that claim totally void now.

The recovery process hasn't changed THAT drastically. The only new addition to the recovery process (since 09) is the registering of email addresses to an account. Also it doesn't play that BIG of a deal in recovering an account back, the bare minimum to recover an account are the creation date, ISP account made on and the first password (all three which he provided and still the appeal for the recovery of the account is denied, which means only one thing; incorrect info).

Regardless of how many years have passed (3, not exactly a lot) he said he would do all it takes to get the account back into my hands and ALL the recovery information was sufficient to successfully recover an account back, which obviously wasn't the case. Something needs to be done, i can understand he was ex-staff and there might be a slight touch of favoritism towards him but this is frankly appauling.

First of all, there is no "Favouritism", why did you not recovery test at the time of purchase?

Anyway, have you not contacted R2Pleasent since? what has he said? or have you not tried?

i did not do a recovery test as i fully trusted r2pleasent due to his status in the black market. I have contacted R2pleasant since, its the last screenshot in my original post.

R2Pleasent says that when you bought the account, you knew the terms of the trade, which were that he was not the original owner of the account thus could not help with an account recovery.

Of course he would say that now. This is why I took a screenshot. There is clear evidence in my original post of R2pleasant saying that he would assist with the recovery and doing all he can to get the account back into my hands.

From the PM you sent me where you said R2p 'did fuck all' about the recovery, I got the impression that he completely dismissed the account as 'not his problem'. However, looking at his response, it does look like he is sympathetic, but short of a refund (which after 3 years of the account being in your possession is a bit much to expect, especially without proof that the original owner is the one who recovered it) I understand his position that there really isn't much he can do.

Although I've advised him against vouching for a user to encourage a specific trade, R2p assures me that the recovery info he gave you at the time was accurate, and that he did check all of the accounts before he sold them. If that info is being rejected now, it may have something do to with either the original owner posting a claim in the 'hijacked' sticky in the RS account help forum, or simply general changes to the recovery system itself.

From your convos, it also looks like he gave you a phone number for the original owner. I think your best bet is to call him, and see where that gets you.
