"Matching Backgrounds" & Fix

First of all, let's explain transparency. That is the term used to describe a space in an image file that holds no color. It will adapt to its background.
It will look like this when created: (checkered background means transparent!)

If your signature does not have a border and your artist tells you that the background is "matching" instead of transparent - make sure that you call them out. Matching on Sythe.org is impossible - as the background changes depending on which signature that you're using. I see this many times a day, and it doesn't look very appealing.


If you're wondering how to change this, It's super easy!

If you're using Photoshop, use this!

Simply select that when creating a document, and the background (Layer one) will be transparent.

If you're using GIMP use this!

Simply select that when creating a document, and the background (Layer one) will be transparent.

Next step! When you're saving your file... make sure you pick .png, as it's the only file type that can handle transparency!

Now.. if you upload that picture as your avatar and see a white box where it was supposed to be transparent - that means you aren't using the correct size.
The default user uploaded avatar setting is 80 x 80 pixels while the donor is 100 x 150 pixels upon request only.
