My High Pardon

Hello.

It's been a few month since my ban, for trolling. I was banned by SMR I believe. This was during the huge saga about Finn being corrupt, which ended in Me, Tyro, Skillers FTW banned, among others.

I'm try to make this dispute as concise as possible.

My Contributions:
Being a Moderator (OT, Community and HUE) for three months, give or take.
Being a User Educator for well over a year, creating SytheMonthly.
Completed an OMM application when it was extremely difficult to complete one.
Over 300 vouches, close to 50 staff vouces (Ex included)
Opened a highly successful Upgrades store
Loyal Member since 2006, accrued over 3500 posts

Why I deserve a second chance?
I'd like to say that I was well behaved for the six months prior to the three days that led to my ban. I earned my staff position during that time, and I hadn't received an infraction for about an eight month period(?). I was banned without warning, without a PM, without receiving a single infraction, and I feel that was a little harsh. I did troll, but in all honesty, other than a few posts in feedback it was mainly done in the Spam Forum. I understand that what I did was wrong, and at a sensitive moment, and I'm sorry for the trouble I caused on the forum. I will try to satisfy my humor with more sensible acts in the future, if I am allowed back.

As a former staff member you should be fully aware that such behavior is inappropriate and shouldn't need a warning >_>

However, I might support it if it makes it to a staff vote.

I'd support as long as you are put on close watch to act like a normal, mature member. Your posts in the "Finn is dishonest" thread were uncalled for and absurd.

 

Your a troll, a prick, and generally just a disagreeable person who has done very little to the site in addition to contributing to the death of the UE section through your poor leadership. Really wouldnt care to see you back.

 

I'm indecisive. I feel like we're all being played, and I wonder if time truly changes him. He had a tendency to annoy staff by choice- he chose when to misbehave and when to have periods of... contribution, I suppose.

 

Meh. He lost all respect from me when he went from being on staff one day (despite a mediocre performance during his tenure at best) to reverting back to his old trolling, disruptive habits literally right after being demoted. I honestly see no reason why we would want his type on the forums as he has nothing positive to offer, but I guess others see differently.

 

Actually after thinking it over for 2 - 3 hrs my instincts are telling me no. Seems as if more problems will occur down the line. However in 6 months support from me will be a little bit easier

 

The most insightful post on the thread. Do not doubt that you are being played -- he has played the staff once before to become a staff member and will not be permitted to do so again.

In response to the pardon request: absolutely not.

I don't care to explain my reasoning for your sake, Magic Arrow, but rather for the staff who have expressed support and wonder why I have vetoed the pardon request:

Magic Arrow used to be one of the site's biggest troublemakers, trolling, being a general nuisance, etc. Just a silly child. Not really harmful, but irritating and time-consuming. He then got involved in User Education and I enjoyed seeing him reform his character and become involved in the community in a helpful way. I then approved Magic Arrow as a staff member, proving to be a big mistake. It turned out that his character reform had been feigned; feigned, presumably, in order to gain access to a staff position, which apparently was his long-term ambition. He knew, however, that he'd have no chance as a troll, and so reinvented himself as a helpful User Educator. Regrettably, though, his departure from the team was marked by an instant return to his old self -- a troll and trouble maker. If any staff would like to discuss this further with me, feel free.
