If you can lead/work in the company without a degree (if your father taught you how to do it and you can do it) then I don't think you will need a degree.

Definitely go for it man, don't be dependant on your father's wealth to keep you stable, get a degree and start working. Be independent and show everyone that you can stand on your own two feet.

I'd try to get into the same field of business your dad is in. I doubt youd need a degree to work with him.

In this day and age, it is quite hard to make it in the world without a decent education. Of course there are people who are naturally born entrepreneurs, or who are born into rich families and simply inherit the family business and are trained in that from the get-go, but for most people an education is key to actually landing a decent career.

I don't think you should try and get a degree just for status though. It sounds like your family has a pretty successful business and that you could easily go to work for your father and become very successful yourself and live a lavish lifestyle. If you are getting a degree because you think a girl won't want to marry you without one, or any similar reason, then you are doing it for the wrong reason.

You can always come back and get a degree later if you want, or if you change your mind. Many people end up going back to school when they are 30-40, or completely change career paths later in their lives. And many other rich, famous, and generally successful people have climbed their way to the top without a degree. Wayne Gretzky never even finished high school because he was so busy with the NHL, and with the amount of money he made playing hockey, even when he retired he didn't ever need to get one. But he went back to school when he retired anyways, and got the high school degree he wasn't able to in his teen years. It is never too late to go back to school if you want to

If you are content with going into your fathers business and making a career out of it, go ahead. From being the relative you can get into the job easily. Degrees are mainly for obtaining the job and having an understanding, if the door is already open you don't need to obtain a degree and spend lots of cash on it opening another door to the same place.

Degrees are important for some people. Others are just born industrious and probably won't need anything like that (Though I'd never discourage it!). Hell, I dropped out twice and ended up getting my diploma in an alternative program (And that's just high school!!). Most of my class is working at Micky D's and I make money through my own means, on my own time, and I'm not flipping any processed meats, or on anyone's clock.

However, I do plan on getting my degree in audio engineering, and I think school is important for that because I obviously don't know everything there is to know about that sort of study.

It just depends on what you're going to go to school for. Honestly, I'm probably never going to get a business degree but I run several small ones, and I'm pretty confident that I can run at a bigger level if I decide to devote all of my time to it. Oh and my parents are dead broke so I wasn't born into an inheritance or anything. :S

if your dad makes that much money like you say he does, and you know that you can take over and run the buisness as well, then theres no need for college. Otherwise just go to college get a degree and a job

In USA, The more education you have, the better your chance of landing a decent paying job. A master's degree is more of a high school diploma now than before.

If you are going to take over your fathers business and work in the business in the interim then you already have a degree from your father. Maybe its not as official as a college degree but its enough of a degree to run the business. Women don't look for degree's, they look for ambition and the ability to take care of them. Getting a degree shows ambition and the possible ability to care, but its not the only way to do it.

If you don't want to be in the business then yes you should get a degree in whatever you want.

It really depends on where you plan to be during your life. If you aren't interested in futhering your education, there is really no point in going to college. It will just be a waste of your time.

I think education should be optional, i left school with no grades yet this hasent stopped me from getting a decent job.

You're probably one of those who were born with the privilege to inherit your families business, but what will people think of you if you're out at a party and someone asks what did you study or what do you currently study.
Having no education, as soon as you hear any question that relates to such topic you'll feel really empty and left out. Maybe even looked down upon by the judgemental type people.
Those type of people will see you as the kid who never truly earned his inheritance.

In my opinion; Get the education, experience what it's like to be in college. You'll feel like you've accomplished much more with an education than without.
