Anybody else into this show?

I've had people recommend it to me for years and about a year ago I finally downloaded the entire first season and watched it. It is an AMAZING show. I got sidetracked though and its been months and months before I finally remember I had to continue watching it. In the last couple of weeks, I've blasted through Season 2 & 3, and I just begun watching Season 4 last night.

For anybody who doesn't know, each Season usually follows a single criminal case and has its own side stories. It shows the story from the angles of the politicians, the police major crimes unit, and the gangsters - all the way from the top dawgs, to the soldiers in prison and the young hoppers selling drugs on the corner. It is such a raw show, and probably one of the most realistic shows I've ever seen as far as the depiction of the events go. If you haven't seen it, download that shit right now and start watching!

I've watched a few of them when I was younger few years back, Would you mind giving me the link where I could download the whole thing and start watching again?

Have you ever used torrents before? I would advise downloading a torrent program if you don't have one already (Personally, I use Utorrent).

I've been downloading them from Demonoid, as I just got an invite to that site recently. You could try there, but without an account I'm not sure if you can download anything or not.

A great alternative site to use would be The Pirate Bay (www.thepiratebay.se). I'm sure you will be able to find them there, either as individual seasons or as the entire season 1-5 collection.

The Wire is an excellent show. I watched the first few episodes of the first season and really enjoyed it, but I've been watching more of Oz and Deadwood recently for some reason. I haven't watched The Wire for a few weeks, but I'll definitely get back into it again soon.

season 1 & 2 is best tv made by hbo

i forget when the show got a budget cut, but they lost a lot of cast and the show suffered but was still good.

I mean the show changes. The scope widens. I try and think of the wire as a complete show, not just a collection of seasons/episodes

I tried watching the pilot episode and couldn't finish it. Does it get better, because from what I watched, it was really boring.

I've heard the first season starts out pretty slow, but it gets a lot better.

I definitely agree. It is by far one of the best, if not THE best TV show that I've ever seen. One of the things I love about it so much, is how realistic the portrayal of everything is.

There is no Hollywood bullshit or exaggerations to the show. It does such a good job portraying the life in the streets, the lives of the detectives and characters, and the behind-the-scenes looks at all the corruption and dirty politics behind the police organizations and the criminal justice system. Really, really fucking excellent show.

Don't worry man, I actually thought the exact same thing.

I remember the first episode I watched, I thought it was quite boring and slow, and I actually thought the acting wasn't very good. There is a TON of swearing and I guess the way some of the characters acted, I thought that the actors were trying a little too hard to portray their characters (particularly the cops in the first episode). But because I had heard so many good things about the show and have had it suggested to me so many times, I decided to continue watching.

The show definitely picks up after a few episodes, and you really began to understand all the characters and realize how fantastic the writing of the show is. The characters are actually perfectly portrayed, and very humanlike so it is easy to relate to them. The story and plot lines in the show are VERY thick, and so the show begins quite slowly so they take take to really paint pictures of all the characters and ease you into the story. There is a lot of dialogue in the show as well, but as the show goes on this actually becomes one of the best parts.

You should definitely give it another try mate. Just watch the first 3 episodes, and you should be starting to get really interested after that point
