Re: Laptop or PC. What Do You Prefer?
A Laptop is a PC, as PC stands for Personal Computer. I know you mean Desktop - Laptop though .
Honestly desktops, they're easier to upgrade, tend to have better cooling and tend to last longer than laptops do (based on how you look after them.

Thanks for correcting me with your terminology there. I agree with you, I prefer desktops for the reason you've given and in general, they are more comfortable to use.

Re: Laptop or PC. What Do You Prefer?
I prefer Laptop's because you could take one anywhere with you and also you can't be taking a PC with you everywhere its just to big whereas I have a PC and 2 laptops I'd prefer Laptop

Re: Laptop or PC. What Do You Prefer?
By far desktop. When people say "oh you can take laptop anywhere" that's true, but I only use my laptop for online things, and there isnt internet everywhere. Desktops are just so much easier, whereas a laptop feels like a downgrades Desktop..

Re: Laptop or PC. What Do You Prefer?
Is both acceptable? Desktops are much much more powerful, but the mobility of laptops is great to have too.

Yes, both are acceptable because you have justified your decision.
Mine would be a desktop, just easier to use IMO and much more powerful.

Re: Laptop or PC. What Do You Prefer?
For general browsing and work, I tend to prefer my laptop since it means I can lay around the house or uni and do things in environments that are more interesting than my boring ass desk. It's more of a comfort thing though; I really find it hard to sit at my desk because of my chair and general size and atmosphere of my room. For gaming, graphics and high def movies though, desktop hands down.

Re: Laptop or PC. What Do You Prefer?
If I could afford an amazing laptop then I would probably say laptops due
to reasons states above but because I'm not wealthy Im going to say desktops because you get better value for your money power wise. Also being a pc gamer I love my 24" LED and couldn't replace that with a laptop screen

Re: Laptop or PC. What Do You Prefer?
Desktop. Performance wise, it beats the laptop anytime.
The only feature a laptop has that a desktop doesn't is it's portable. But now with new phones coming out, it's starting to replace laptops slowly. If you want to surf the net when you aren't home, you don't need to carry your laptop. So for me, the only feature that the laptop is better for is if you aren't comfortable sitting when using the desktop. You could roam around the house and pretty much use a laptop anywhere, maybe watch TV while doing something on the laptop. But you could also do that with a mobile now.

Re: Laptop or PC. What Do You Prefer?
I prefer my laptop when I'm being casual and browsing, but when it's gaming or streaming, I'll use my PC. I can put a laptop in my bag, bring it to school for working and such but it won't be able to play any good games on it. I sometimes run a few Runescape bots on it, though.

Re: Laptop or PC. What Do You Prefer?
I much prefer my desktop. I have a desktop replacement laptop that's really old now that I use for the web cam and at my girlfriends but I don't use it at home really.

Re: Laptop or PC. What Do You Prefer?
Desktop all the way for gaming, much better.
I dont have a laptop but the mobility is just so useful.
Next year for school I'll need a laptop anyway, getting one soon.

Re: Laptop or PC. What Do You Prefer?
I always like to have a high end desktop for serious work and a relatively low end light laptop to carry around with me for simple tasks. I'm on a desktop almost all the time, so the laptop would really be for MS word at school and one or two other things

Laptops are the only way to go. Take them anywhere and nice and compact.

Re: Laptop or PC. What Do You Prefer?
I will always prefer a high performance desktop. Once you experience top-of-the-line desktops you'll feel like no laptop compares.
