Hey man, i know what you mean with wanting to be successful and it interfering with your social life. I'm going to University of Kentucky next year myself and dont intend on playing either (for both my dignity and time). But I'ma log on just to lend out a phat for an easy 1m a day. If you dont wanna quit man, just buy some d claws during the school year and lend them out for 400k/day that way in the summers you can fuck around. But either way man, good luck!

Games like Runescape and WoW can be extremely addicting and hard to quit. Good luck on your future endeavours, let's hope you don't come back.

I wish you luck, Runescape if you think of it, is quite a cruddy MMO anyway.

Exactly. I have a love for music and i have been playing guitar for 6 years, i love the acoustic guitar, and i have had this passion this past year to learn how to read music and play piano. I want to pursue my dreams in a music career, i want to be successful at it, being successful at something like a career doesnt mean you make a ton of money from it. I just want to make a living out of it. <3 But by being addicted to this game, it has ruined a lot of my relationships with friends and has probably kept me from making a lot of new friends.

My way to have it not affect my life very much is just bot everything :D
Il play for an hour or two here and there, but 99% of my account is botted :)

You don't need to quit playing just get on like 1-2 hours a day MAX or sometimes don't even get on, once you start doing this your going to find other stuff to do IRL, then you would come to a stage where you wont even want to play.

Quitting runescape is damn hard. Really hard. Almost impossible. Back in 2008 i sucessfully broke my addicton simply by convincing myself to lose interest in the game. I had a good time being free of addiction that year. In 2009 my friend asked me to help hack this kid's account for him, and we actually did manage to hack his shitty level 50. The next day he cried and told the teacher. Ah, the good times. In 2009 i played the game, but managed my addiction so i could focus more on my social life. When 2010 dawned my addiction dug deeper, i began playing 4-8 hours a day again. I was mad. I had completely forgotten about botting and sat all day leveling up my level 90 Noob. When this year came, i had bought a level 138 from Sythe. Then it got stolen. That made me really mad, and it pretty much sealed my fate of addiction to this game. I sweeped the dust from the first ever account i created - My level 90 main. I decided to go for broke and suicide bot it's stats, and managed to get 99 attack and strength done. I also got from 84-95 Dungeoneering. I began to feel depressed about my addiction. I tried to go cold turkey, but i fucked up (badly) and ended up playing 5 hours the next day.

    Fml.

You will probably want to come back one day honestly. I recommend that while you're quitting, might as well bot your accounts up. Suicide them. If they get banned, then heck, no loss, you wanted to quit anyway. But imagine one day you want to come back, and you possibly have a maxed out account.

Enjoy your ban for hacking. Sythe rules clearly state that hacking is against the rules, even if it wasn't a Sythe member, no matter how long ago.
