How to make your own website

As you probably know, this is a guide on how to create your own website.

For an example of some sites made from fxdomains.com, check my signature.

Step 1:

Follow this link to fxdomains.com. This site seems to me to be the most reliable and simplest to use when creating domains.

After you get to the fxdomains.com homepage you will need to use a bit of creative thinking. Although you may want to just pick a cool name that you alone like, it is always a good idea to choose a name that is popular if you choose to generate revenue with the site.

When picking a name, popular searches today are for debt consolidation, health care, the presidential race, and (not appropriate for Sythe.org) porn (but you may use it when you make your site).

Getting back to fxdomains.com—on the homepage you will see a box like this in the upper right hand corner:



This is where you type your site name.

After you have found a name you must choose the options you want for this name (just special things that I don’t know of anyone ever using). You may, however, choose to reserve your name so that no one else can buy it out. This involves paying for a .org, .net, and .info name as well.

Since I cannot access the payment screen without registering a name, I can’t take pictures for you, but to pay for the name, just click continue and enter your information.

After you have finished paying, congratulations, you just made your first website. It isn’t hard at all and you can start making money on it very soon.

Step 2:

To begin generating revenue on your website you need to follow this link to sedo.com, and click on domain parking.



Upon clicking on domain parking you will be prompted to register with Sedo. Do so, but remember that for the email address, you need to have your ISP email (i.e. [email protected] or [email protected]). You cannot use freemail address such as hotmail or yahoo.

After you have registered you will receive a code as well as the user agreement to Sedo. Copy this code, and go to your website (once again, I do not have a picture because I have already sold my site).

Once back at your site you need to forward it to the Sedo parking page by pasting the code they have provided you with into the server name section.

After you finished doing so you will want to go to your site to look and make sure that you have properly parked with Sedo.

You will know that you are properly parked if your site has lots of links that are relevant to the site name and address. You can go and change the keyword options by clicking my account on the sedo.com page.

Extra tips: When you are done generating revenue from your parked website you may choose to auction it off on the main page of sedo.com. This may be very worthwhile if you pick a popular name.

Choosing a name that is popular makes the site even WORSE. There is a large sea of keywords on google; choosing one that brings too many results will affect your site adversely, making it hard to find through search engines.

Your guide doesn't show how to make a website... it shows how to park a domain, and to barely make revenue from it...

thank you all. and try to choose a name close to what you are trying to say. example: if you are hosting soul music, maybe the site should be called moveyoursoul.com... (that is my old site, do not use)

 

I don't really like this guide. Like CP said it doesn't show you how to make your own website, it just shows you how to buy a domain.

 

Thats how you make it... How to customize it is different for every site. And you can customize it however you want to.

 

Nah, domain and websites are completely different. Also as far as I know (well creating forums, etc) it isn't different by any means for every site. They all use the same script (HTML,Javascript, etc).

 

Forums yes, now if you want to make it different then it wont be the same

'Making' a website involves HTML / CSS coding, you have to code to make a website. What you told us to do is how to 'Register a Domain', so I think you should have the title changed, because it kind of ruins it for me.

I was actually wanting to learn how to make a website, and when I clicked this guide, it just told me how to register a domain. WTF. Registering a domain is not making a website!

 

It doesnt register by week. Generally if you pick a good name (i.e. anything with 'debt', 'porn' or 'politics'; these topics are always in the top 5 or 10 in most search engines. When you make keywords, make them relevant to the site's name. Marketers bid on keywords so the Price Per Click (PPC) ranges according to the demand of that keyword. 'Debt' is about $0.68 per click atm, which is a very high PPC. Generally you will see anywhere from $0.10-$0.40 PPC.

And as a reminder, you CANNOT advertise your site anywhere, because if Sedo sees the hits directed from anywhere but google, msn, or a major search engine, your site gets shut down, REMEMBER THAT

and i would suggest telling people to visit your sites over msn, email, or at school/work
