How to string a double locking tremolo.

This is a guide on how to STRING a double locking tremolo. This is a very fragile system AND should be taken with EXTREAM caution. Remember alot of these pieces are irreplaceable if lost or broken.

So before we get started. You need a pack of strings.
    {PACK OF STRINGS}

And you should have knowledge on how to string an original guitar before we start. IF you don't search www.youtube.com many vids how there.

    Loosing all tension

So before you restring your guitar wound all strings back. So they are loosened.
If the gauge strings you have are higher or lower see my guide on how to tune to adjust the string tension. Eitherway. Unwound all of them, so their is no tension on the tremolo what so ever.

    Unstringing/Restringing

Alright. Now unlock your locking nut on the neck of your guitar. If you cant find it here it is.

Unlock it all the way. Or just take it off.
Now you have to unlock the saddle screws. (DO NOT PUT YOUR GUITAR UPSIDE DOWN, YOU WILL LOSE A SADDLE BLOCK ITS HAPPENED TO ME BEFORE). These are your saddle screws.

Loosen those not too much. Until your strings pop out is good enough. Take off the excess strings.

Now to re string it. Now pull your string out of the pack. (Use 6th string first)
Now your string tips should look like this.

Now with the string tips. You have to cut off the balled ends. ONLY THE BALLED ENDS. When you cut it off the tips will look like this.

Alright you see your loosened saddle block?

Put your string in between the saddle front where my nail is. And the saddle block. Make sure its all the way in you will know its there. Now tighten the saddle screw as in the previous pictures.
Now do it this way and take the string you put into the tightened saddle to the corresponding tuner. And tighten it a little bit and do a major bend with it to stretch the string.
repeat this with all the strings until all of them are strung but not tuned. Now make sure the fine tuners.

Are all leveled not too high nor too low. And refer to my Tuning method. That method works with Floyd kahler and Ibanez tremolos(EDGE Series) Hope this helped...

Enough with your sexy guides. Their all good and stuff of course, but you just need to add some color.

Well I don't have a guitar like that (yet). Might wanna consider increasing the quality of the images. Maybe some color. 7.5/10

Well, you should add that beginners shouldn't take off all the strings at once as then you have to re-calibrate the floyd rose if something is wrong. And you unlock the nut before unwinding the tuning posts (at least thats how i do it). And you could go into some detail as how the floating bridge works and explain the spring tension at the back cavity of the guitar.

All in all good guide for beginers that are new to floating tremolos. There's also a guide at the official website for the floyd rose ;)
