How to train/teach your dog tricks!

    I. Introduction
    II. Basic training
    III. Advance training

    I. Introduction

Envy your neighbor because they have this dog that knows how to do all these good tricks? Well this guide will teach you how to train your dog some basic training and some advance training for those dog experts out there. I myself have 2 dogs that are well trained. I have a Labrador Retriever mixed with a German Sheppard and a Siberian Husky mixed with an American Eskimo. Most dog must complete Obedience School which will teach them how to obey and respect their masters. Not all dogs need Obedience School but is very recommended for people with new dogs. Obedience School is just like Kindergarten for dog trainers.

    II. Basic Training

Basic training is easy stuff. Like calling your dog, making your dog sit down, potty training your dog, controlling your dog's bark.

    Calling your dog

    - You may call your dog in any way you like
    - Some suggested calls are whistling, actions, beckoning, dog's name, ect.
    - When you want to see your dog, simply use the signal, whether it is a whistle or action, use it over and over again. Eventually your dog will memorize the signal when he is being called.

Making your dog sit down on command.
    - Use a simple action or phrase. Example: "Sit!" Then point towards the ground
    - When dog has done the command correctly, it is advise to reward the dog with a treat. Thus, will settle in your dog's mind. Seeing that sitting = treat
    - Yelling at a dog is not advisable.
    - Praising your dog for correctly doing a command, helps your dog's talent develop.

    Potty Training
    - My method on teaching your dog to potty train is to scold him.
    - Physical abuse is not recommend :p
    - Simply point towards some grass or a tree, when your dog makes a mistake & scold him.

    Controlling your dog's bark
    - Having your dog bark is very intimidating
    - Train your dog by patting his head every time he is growling or barking
    - You also have the option to put a muzzle but is not recommended as the dog can still scare people with his growling.
    - There are also collars that prevent dog's from barking but not sure if it hurts the dog in anyway.

    III. Advance training
Advance tricks come after once the dog has develop and mastered his basic tricks. Some of these tricks are quite difficult that my dog has not even learned them. Some advance tricks are barking on command, shake, lay down, roll over, and fetch. there are many more. But just going over the commonly used tricks

    Barking on command/Speak
    - say "Speak" and try to make your dog bark
    - Praise the dog once the dog has barked.
    - Repeat this many times to have your dog master this trick

    Shake

    - Put your hand out like you are shaking someone's hand
    - Leave it there until your dog attempts to put his paw in your hand
    - Praise and repeat until mastered :)

    Lay Down
    - Point towards the ground and say "Down"
    - Try to make your dog sit first (it will make it much easier)
    - Once laying down, praise and repeat until mastered

    Roll Over
    - Get your dog to lay down
    - Once, laying down. Encourage your dog to roll over by using a movement or words
    - This is a very difficult skill.
    - Praise and repeat until mastered

    Fetch
    - Throw a ball or stick somewhere
    - Encourage your dog to go and get it
    - Beckon your dog back to you. (some dogs run away with the ball or stick)
    - Praise and repeat until mastered

To be completely honest with you, this guide is very basic. Anyone with common sense (which doesn't always seem so common now-a-days), can figure out that you praise the dog for doing the command correctly and scolding it if it pees on the carpet. Your methods are very basic in my opinion.

Also your format regarding pictures is incorrect. You need to post the link to each DIRECTLY UNDER the picture, not in a list at the end of the guide.

It's just an ok guide if you ask me.

I quite like this guide, you have a nice use of pictures and detail. Plus, a lot of people don't know how to train their dog properly so I find this useful. 9/10, good work.
