Runescape classic - how was it?

I started to play Runescape 2006/2007 (some of you maybe call it Runescape 2) so I've never played Runescape Classic.

Try to describe it.

I don't know how others like to play RSC , because for me it's the biggest bullshit ever , no offence to RSC fans

It was my first online game and I was addicted for such a long time. RSC destroyed my social life and made me a gaming nerd just like most of you guys.

rsc was awsome so simple and fun you could try some of the rsc private servers about to get a feel and look of it but there not the same feel as the old rsc in some aspects like standing in varrock square in a crowd of people typeing selling rune long hit 555 r2h hit 888 etc etc

Back when most of the community played it?

It was primitive. Rewarding. Actually challenging, unlike this new thing RS has turned into.

Gold was far from easy to obtain. Smithing was an important skill. (it actually meant something when you could create rune armor)

The community interacted much more than now, trading was interactive.

I always felt a sense of accomplishment whenever I achieved something there, because I knew- It wasn't easy.

Bots...yeah they were there, we know about Autorune, etc etc.

It was an important release in the RS timeline, and I still enjoy playing the game today.

Rsc was the best game in the world, so much better than RuneScape today. Everything was so simple yet so easily enjoyable.

There was actually an economy and people didn't walk around with botted bills, there was no duel arena if you wanted to duel you requested to then fought in the streets..

There was actually a purpose in Rsc, sure it was simple but you actually had to work for your money which made it completely funner.

Most of the Rsc users were extremely friendly, which is why most of us player mods you now see have such an early join date. Everyone was just so friendly.

It's really hard to break down and describe because there's so much.. It was just an amazing game and wish the community was still around to play with.

just a thing that popped through my mind; At the time, did people that had like alot of 99s in classic gained the same skills when they switched to normal? or did they have to start all over?

RSC was not very fun at all.. you reached prime rs in all honesty.
It was just a glitchy and slow game.

Yes they switched over, you had 2 months to make a choice whether you were going to Rs2 or staying on Rsc.

I play rsc still cause i have members and such, I never played it when it was fun but I play it now cause when you talk to people the chances are they are getting back on to see how it was back in the day or if they're stats are still there lol. Plus im not at competition with anyone I suck at video games.... But I like to play classic and thieve from every level 9 man walking around.

rsc pking and to a much lesser extent staking is what made runescape as big as it is today.

All of these people who never played RSC back when it was the best MMO out there are making me cringe. All games have their glitches and yes the movement was slow, but it was also 2001. Our expectations aren't what they are today. I still play private servers and it will be my favorite computer game until the day I die. Nothing will beat the experience of playing Rsc in 2001-2005.
