Re: Staff Feedback
While we are on the topic of name changes, I'll state my opinion with some examples.
Up until a year or two ago, name changes were strictly prohibited even to the staff team. For example, The Viper 000 and Nathan', both staff at the time, requested name changes several times but to no avail. The Viper wanted the zeros gone and Nathan wanted his apostrophe gone. As you can see, both were minor changes. If I remember correctly the first name change since the original name changes (smr, ryan, etc.) was You_jew who later became NickV. This was the first name change in years, however I believe this was necessary as you_jew is condescending. After this, names were changed even though unnecessary. For example, Finniscool, [N]ick, jimmy, louis, jcash, the list goes on and on. As you can see, after this event, name changes occurred more frequently and were handed out more leniently. Change like this only creates problems. It confuses people, shows favoritism, and IMO actually looks unprofessional.
tl;dr name changes shouldn't be allowed.

Re: Staff Feedback
Where'd all of our admins go? Verts is the only one I see post anymore.
It's nice to be doing behind the scenes work and such, but as admins you should be out on the forum associating with everyone, posting, and participating in the community. It also wouldn't hurt to try and facilitate sythe more and help it grow.
inb4someone says staff have other priorities
Tbh it's not that difficult to make atleast 1 or 2 posts a day, or when you have some free time on the computer, which I am sure you do, to get more active in the community. Admins have a big role to fill, and it's not just all "behind the scenes" work.

I've seen a few admins post recently, but not nearly as much as I used to.
Many of the admins at the moment DON'T have the time to make those few posts a day... While I can't speak for them, I know their schedules are just as hectic and crazy as many of ours are.

I have never seen decent activity from the majority of the admins in my entire time of being on Sythe. Maybe if they don't have the time to devote to sythe, then they shouldn't be admins.
It's nothing personal, I really don't dislike any of you, it's just like I said before, the admin role is a big role to fill, and the lack of activity is really hurting sythe.
I have been here for a little over a year, and over that time hardly anything has changed. Sure we get a new section or a new mod once in a while, but nothing really ever changes, and it's slowly hurting sythe. Over this past year I have seen the community slowly die down, and lose its spark. It really isn't the same bustling hub of activity that I came to over a year ago and it sucks because I can see that the possibilities for the site are endless, yet nothing is being pursued. The reason for this is because there is no admin on enough to really make changes, and when a normal member tries to make a change, they might gather good support, but ultimately nothing really happens.
This is also starting to effect the communities mentality towards change as well. It seems that whenever a suggestion is made, it's instantly put into a black or white category. What I mean by this is if it's been said no to before, it's instantly cast down. It is refused to be even discussed. This has given people the impression that what we have is what we have, and any other kind of change is not acceptable. Maybe a tweak here and there, but nothing else will be considered.
Again, this feedback is to ultimately help sythe grow, and hopefully bring about some change before things are broken beyond repair. Besides, we need something to rekindle that spark again.

Please keep in mind that every administrator has a full-time job. Not all of them are lucky enough to be able to access Sythe during work hours.

Re: Staff Feedback
haha.. wrote a whole staff feedback and accidentally backspaced. Just wanted to say that I love you all and think that the staff is stronger than it has been in quite a whiile. Sectionals are doing an amazing job keeping things clean and having the RaS and RaSc up to date. Globals are more active than I've ever seen and are all really great, genuine guys. I have legitimate respect for many of you after getting to know y'all. Admins are less active lately but that's fine. We all have lives and those are more important than a website. (Although It's great seeing Verts around the SF and elsewhere!)
Video-- You're doing a great job with the ban disputes. Very professional.
