Default New laptop that is able to run these reliably? (UK)..

Preferably at the cheapest price. My main laptop broke so now I'm using one that's about ten years old and can't run anything.

I'm not really interested in anything that's going to need a super-quick computer. I would even be willing to run Runescape on the lowest graphics settings possible as long as it ran smooth.

All I need is for it to run PhotoShop, all Microsoft packages and possibly C4D smoothly.

Does anyone know where I could pick one up at a cheap price? It doesn't have to be brand new, it can be refurbished.

Well, first of all you want a desktop. Or is that not an option?

A laptop is more convenient but desktop is still an option, however the cheapest option is the best option at the moment.

I know this may sound wrong to you, but a Desktop is going to be cheaper and worth the money.

anything that is a single core 2.4GHZ + and has 1 gig of ram should be able to do this which is dirt cheap.

Yeah? with which OS? Lol.

Honestly, anything by Asus that fits your budget, refurbished or not, would be a good buy. The quality of their laptops is top tier.

Had a look at those.. seem OK for the price but not really what I'm looking for (based on the specs) - although I am a bit of a noob when it comes to specs so I probably have no idea what I'm talking about.

I found this on eBay:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/POWERFUL-G...#ht_3830wt_938

- Windows 7 pre-installed
- Core 2 duo 1.86Ghz - 2.10 Ghz processor
- 4GB RAM
- 80GB harddrive

I know 80GB is quite low but anything extra (although I highly doubt I'll even use 80GB) will just be saved to an external drive..

Could anyone tell me whether this is a good deal or not?

I would trade in windows 7 for xp as it will free up more of your processing power, this also answers the poster who quoted me. you would use windows xp.

EDIT to the OP sorry I didn't see that you wanted to do c4d as well in this case you would probably want something closer to 3 ghz. which any single core is pretty cheap.

I'm not too fussed with C4D, all I'd be using it for is non-animated text, I wouldn't be creating any videos on it .

Thanks for your reply, appreciate it.

Really? XP and a singlecore in 2012? It's not 2006 anymore.
Just get the cheapest possible laptop, the cheap ones aren't that good anyways so the brand doesn't really matter.
I'd assemble a desktop if I were you.
