What will happen if I receive an amazon gift card that was obtained illegally?

Well a few days ago I have purchased an amazon gift card of someone, which was sent via e-mail. I than have activated the gift card on my amazon account.

But I am not sure if he obtained it illegally (with a stolen credit card). What would happen if he obtained it illegally with a stolen credit card? Could I get in trouble and can the person that activated the gift card code be traced back?

umm i dont think so unless it was a large amount ($500+). That large of an amount usually gets flagged. If ur worried that it was obtained illegally, Id best spend it on an item NOW.

Don't use items obtained illegally. Why take a chance?

If on balance it will just be withheld... if spent and large amount they will try and get you into trouble.
