SCARPACK - Compile your scripts into a standalone exe [BETA]
Dear SCAR minded friends,
In recent years it has become increasingly more difficult to ensure the end user has the correct version of SCAR, various includes, and various plugins. It has also become increasingly more of a problem to teach end users how to use SCAR.
I believe I have come up with a solution to this. Something often dream of but never realized.
SCARPACK is a product I recently finished coding. It is currently in BETA testing phase.
The basic concept behind SCARPACK is this: You take an installation and a script you have written and compile them both into one concrete EXE which will work on anyone’s windows computer, regardless of if they have SCAR or not, and regardless of if they know how to use it.
The packed scripts look like this:
If you wish to beta test then below is the link:
http://www.sythe.org/scarpack1.2.rar
Please report your bug finds here.
More information on exactly how this works:
The unpacker (as seen in the second image) contains a copy of the SCAR installation you selected, and your script. When the unpacker starts, it unpacks the script and scar installation to a temp directory. When the user clicks "Start Script" the installation of scar is run minimized and your script starts automatically. When the user clicks stop script, SCAR is terminated immediately. The unpacker takes care of finding the rs window and passes this information straight to scar.

A note:
There is no way for the user to select colours into the script with this. So someone needs to come up with a colour selector interface in scar and pass it around so everyone can make use of it.

If you have a form in your SCAR script and you press "Start Script" in the SCARPACK, will the form still pop up?

Good question.
Try it and tell me if it pops up or not.
If it doesn't I can add a fix to make sure it does.

Yeah, it works perfectly as it is. There are no problems with forms.

Re: SCARPACK - Compile your scripts into a standalone exe [BETA]
That looks really nice Sythe.
But 1 thing, I don't use SCAR for RuneScape (I have quitted RS)... Please make an option to select if the person is using it for RuneScape or not, as currently it just won't work without RuneScape open... Argh. I would love to use it.
There are alot SCAR users who use SCAR for other games/things
But yeah, keep up the good work Sythe!

so actually the problems from the color setting, player setting, .... all settings are actually solved, make form and made the form so you can setup everything that's needed in the form

Re: SCARPACK - Compile your scripts into a standalone exe [BETA]
I tried it on Wizzup's Essence miner and it worked perfectly! Then I tried it on Ejjman1 Account Creator v2.00, and i got the same error as Wow Sucks and kmalik=( Nvm I tried running the normal script and it had an error in it... Thats what stoped it from working.

Re: SCARPACK - Compile your scripts into a standalone exe [BETA]
Wait, So, when you run it, is there a way to get the person to set up their players? So you need to use SRL Player Manager or whatever it is, so the person can set everything up?
