RuneScape Guide & eBook Sales Rules

1) Attempting to guess a guide is counted as spam. You will be infracted.

2) Do not post a thread requesting a guide. Instead, use the Request a Guide thread.

3) Requesting a free guide to review it for users. You may only review a guide after you have purchased it

4) Do NOT sell ripped guides, you WILL be permanently banned from the guide marketplace and receive a one month site ban.
4a) Please do not sell an exact copy of a similar guide or a guide that is commonly made.

5) You cannot sell another user's guide unless you get their permission (resale rights). It doesn't matter if you purchased the guide, or found it free on another site. If you do have permission to redistribute the guide from the author, remember to give them credit!

6) Posts saying "I'll buy when it's verified"/"I'll review it for you"/"I'll take it for free" or anything along those lines will be infracted.

7) Check the Guide DNS List to see guides that you are not allowed to sell.

The following is a list of guides that are NOT allowed to be sold. Attempting to sell these guides will lead to an infraction and a possible forum ban from the guide section.

The following guides may not be sold:

- $0.01 Auth Guide
- 500k p/h fletching guide (just mith bolts, addy bolts, or broad bolts)
- ANY "BUYING GUIDE" THREAD
- ANY guide containing fraud!
- Alching guides
- Anything to do with Crystal Seeds
- Any unbanning guide
- Cooking using grapes + wine
- Dice game/trust/gambling guides
- Dragon/Kingly impling hunting
- Dragonscale method
- Enchanting bolts for exp/gp.
- Fire Arrows
- Flipping/Merching Guides
- Free auth guides
- Free pin guides
- Helm of neitiznot money making guide
- Jangerberries or whiteberries
- Mole Trading Guide
- Non-glitch Staking Guides
- Pineapple pizza house money making
- Recovering accounts guides
- Ring of lifes/Diamond rings
- Spirit Kalphite Money Making Guides
- Steam Battlestaffs enchanting money making guide
- Using crafting with onyx items
- Using fletching to make bows (u)

Us (guide verifiers and staff) have three warnings for you trading guides:

Don't use "buy now" buttons.
Buy now buttons are automatically redirecting you to a page where the guide is posted. You can't prove that someone have bought a guide if they're using one of these buttons. Therefore, makes it hard to prove ripping.

Don't trade guides through files.
Don't send guides through (or accept) files in MSN conversations. You can't prove what guide being sent here. Send the guide through text or use private (hook the little lock) http://pastie.org/.

Be careful when buying guides which aren't verified.
When buying an un-verified guide, you have no confirmation that the guide actually works, and it can be common knowledge, leaked or patched. Be sure to read the comments, use a MM, or wait for verification when trading unverified guides.


These aren't rules, so you don't have to follow these, but we strongly recommend you do for most successful trades.

After buying a guide/eBook from another user, we strongly encourage you to post a review of the guide/eBook on the thread that the guide/eBook is being sold on. This will allow other users to ascertain the quality of the guide and determine whether they consider it to be a worthwhile purchase. In writing a review of a guide, you are helping to keep our facilities for guide sales strong, healthy, and clean. Guides that receive the best reviews will naturally become the best-selling guides, and, correspondingly, the ones with the worst reviews will not become top hits -- and this is how we, the Sythe.org staff, intend for it to be. We'd like to think that guides & eBooks that are of the highest quality will be met with the highest number of sales. We hope that you share our view and will therefore help out by reviewing the guides & eBooks that you have purchased.

However, before reviewing a guide/eBook that you have purchased, we ask that you read our few brief guidelines & rules that are in place concerning guide reviews. These are as follows:


- Any reviews submitted about a guide MUST CATEGORICALLY NOT include any reference to the content of the guide itself -
this would constitute guide leaking and may result in a permanent ban.

- All reviews should be respectful & polite.
You are entitled to imply that the guide you have purchased is of poor quality, but this should be expressed in a constructive and unconfrontational manner.

- Guides that are fundamentally flawed (i.e. guides & eBooks that do not work) should be reported in the Report a Scammer section, which can be found here.


Whilst not mandatory, we would appreciate it if guide reviews followed - at least loosely - the template provided below:
