Default Help with getting a more smooth face?

Right now I have 3 goals to improve myself right now
1. Improve Grades in school
2.Help with getting my skin on my face more smooth
3. Getting half an inch of fat off my lower abdominal

Anyways, I was looking for some help to improve the skin in my face, to have that smooth look.

Heres my face conditions
1. Oily face, (looks kinda greasy no matter what i do)
2. A bit acne prone, i have a pretty good amount of acne on the sides of my face thats been there for months, i cant get rid of it!
3.(along with acne prone) usually when i get some acne away more comes...

4. i workout/run alot, im in track and ill get all sweaty and feel gross and i dont really know the right steps to get the full effect of preventing acne, usually ill just put some "face cleaner" on in the shower and thats all ill do with my face...

Any questions that you might have about my face that would help with the solution feel free to ask, thanks guys!

I've heard the best thing you can do to prevent acne is sleep with a clean pillowcase on your pillow every night. Some other options: use a stack of clean towels and lay one over your pillow every night, use the t-shirt you're going to wear the next day and slide your pillow into that before sleep.
The idea is that your face isn't lying in the same puddle of oil every night for 8 hours. It should help a bit.

Keep your face clean and don't constantly touch your face, and just use face wash product's like Pro active or clean & clear, it's really worth the peace of mind.

Some things that help loads:

1) Wash your face with an exfoliating cream for oil-prone skin both in the shower in the morning, and at night before bed

2) Change your pillow case every few nights. It is incredible how much grease from your face lies dormant on your pillow and causes acne. This helps loads.

3) Change your diet slietly. Try to avoid really greasy foods. Also, there are many other foods which affect acne such as dairy products, processed foods, certain fruits with high sugar etc. A quick google search can help you decide what to cut out of your diet, or cut down on.

3) Avoid touching your face at all costs.

4) Exercise and drinking water. Avoid caffeine, alcohol, cigarettes if you can.

Well you're a teenager, there are tons of things you can do to help but you'll always get acne until you get older (it kind of just disappears one day).
Anyway, a few things to do is: Drink lots of water (if your pee is yellowish you need more water, so drink until it's completely clear) change your pillow every two days (sleep and then flip it over the next day) wash your face with the stuff your using now when you wake up and when you go to bed (and after you've been working out or something) but don't wash too much, I used to wash my face a hell of a lot and all I was doing was destroying my skin and my doctor said she recommend I not wash my face so much.
If you're worried about rough skin try using moisturiser, but in my experiences moisturiser gives me spots on my face.

I'm assuming you don't have a beard as your in school and I don't know how young you are, but if you do have a beard, I personally used to get a few spots after shaving.

Keep working out and running, it helps to keep fit if your trying to prevent spots (I don't actually know that for sure, but you always see fat people with spots).

The first, and most obvious thing to do is to stop your acne (Easier said than done).

First thing though: How severe is your acne? (Mild, Moderate, or severe - google each)

I think i have some great advice for you my friend! My face was pretty bad a while ago and it has improved tremendously. Here are simple tips that will definitely help you :

1. Water. It's been said a hundred times, and it does work. Drink enough water.
2. Sleep. Sleep is when your skin repairs itself. Sleep enough and do not sleep too late!
3. ABC juice. Apple Beetroot and Carrot. You can google this up.
4. Facewash. Wash your face twice a day and when you feel that your face is oily you can use wet tissue to wipe away the oil.
5. Balanced diet. Ensure you eat a fair share of vegetables and fruits!

I'll give you my own little personal input here, as I've had acne troubles in the past where nothing else worked. All the creams, washes, anti bacterials, pills in the world didn't stop it. So I visited my GP, who said basically he'd put me on accutane. Pretty much 5 months in now and my acne is gone, the deep pitting is slowly recovering and my face is really clear and smooth. I had enough trying to tackle the acne in the past, so this was the be all end all for me. It's very potent and can carry a lot of side effects for some people, but I haven't noticed much besides very dry cracked lips (they were bleeding earlier today) and dry skin. It's worth it if you've had enough and nothing else works, but it can be difficult to get a prescription since it is a strong drug.

1) Eat healthier. You'd be surprised how much chips and soda affects your face.
2) Sleep on a clean towel every night.
3) Don't touch your face. I know this can be hard to do since you subconsciously do it, but try not to.
4) Keep your face clean and moisturize.

I'm not sure what age you are right now, but I'm guessing between 14 and 17. If you have oily skin there's not much you can do except wait it out or take accutane. Also, as tempting as it may be, don't pick at your pimples. It can lead to scarring, which is 1000x worse than having acne. You usually grow out of acne by 18, but scarring takes so much longer unless you have some sort of procedure done.

Good luck, I know acne can be a bitch, I know from personal experience. I hit puberty early, and was literally 12 with acne. It sucked pretty hard. I had acne from 12-16, worst experience of my life. Just do your best to manage it, and ride it out man, it gets better.

P.S. I tried accutane, it actually does work, but I stopped taking it because it really dried my skin out. I was having nosebleeds literally every night. There was nothing I could do to prevent them. Since it was annoying and messing with my sleep pattern, I stopped taking it. If you can deal with the dry skin (not sure if you'll have nosebleeds or not), then I'd take that. Just moisturize and use plenty of lip balm .

I would advise against this. If anything it'll make your face worse.

Agreed, it's a really stupid thing to do, especially if you're out in the sun you'll just fry.

I forgot to mention you need to watch your diet also. I find by eating a lot of chips, chocolate etc leads to fat deposits, and pimples. I've been dieting and working out the last few months along with my accutane treatment and it's doing wonders. Salt water can be a big help too, if you live near the beach, I find it's a good way to open pores and cleanse your skin.

I would seriously advise against Accutane unless the severity of your acne is in the moderate-severe range. From the words 'a bit', I'd take it that the acne is in the mild, possibly mild-moderate range. Accutane at this stage is akin to using a sledge hammer to crack a walnut; start smaller.

While studies have shown that low-dose accutane may work wonders with the reduced chance of long lasting side-effects, I would prefer any other treatment option where I don't run the risk of these side effects.

As to the baby-oil problem, you'd have to be crazy to use a highly comedogenic product on already acne prone skin.

You really need to shower after you have a run, or workout. You may have noticed that when you use spot cream, it often dries out your skin. That's because spots need moisture, and spot creams suck away the moisture kind of. If you're sweaty, it makes it worse. You NEED to wash your sweat off after you run or work out.

I would advise using aloe vera straight from a plant every night.

You may feel a small itch but don't worry. Use your mind over matter, don't touch your face at all! It will look all gooey and nasty but when you wake up from your 8 hour nap, it'll disappear. I recommend you to use a neck pillow or anything that will help you sleep straight up to the wall. This will keep your face from interfering from your dirty pillow. When you wake up, your face will look clean and in the morning, do a clean face wash with extremely cold water. use a napkin/paper towel to wipe your face. Did this for a month to a year and it helps acne,

Also, drink plenty of water per a day. It's recommended if you drink at least 8 glasses a day and avoid touching your face throughout the entire day.

I have a tonne of products with up to 10% Benzyl Peroxide. Although I rarely get bad acne it helps a lot.

Tea Tree oil also works, if you can get past the fact that it's tea tree oil

What i do is get some baking soda and some water and make a paste, then spread it to cover your face and make like a mask. Leave it on for abour 10 minuites and wash it all off in warm water. It really helps clear out your skin. Baking soda has many uses and can cure most problems.

Tell me how it goes.
