Ok guys im 15 and 6 months and i really cant take my family anymore. Im in 9th grade and i really want to run away to dc. I have a friend who lives in dc who would let me live there. Also im homeschooled id hate to leave before graduating but is it possible to homeschool yourself without a gaurdian? Any thoughts on what i should do? Also i have barely any money...but i would be able to sell my xbox and some stuff for a train ticket. Thanks for you advice

Hey, think about what you're saying. If you actually follow through with this plan, there might be dire consequences. Why are you running away? Is it family issues? If you could state what they are, we could try helping you from there. But, please don't do anything drastic.

Pleaseeeeeeeeeeee dont do this. You may not see it now but thats the worst thing possible to do from the information youve given me. Even though your family is annoying you shouldnt run away from them. Who else in the world will care for you like they will?

Also think about this, what if you and your friend get into an argument and he kicks you out? Then youre stuck in dc with no family no help by yourself. Youre still young and have alot ahead of you, dont ruin it all because of one bad thing.

Also you will be arrested and so will your friend and his parents and your parents. You cant homeschool yourself. You wont even be able to register for a public school let alone graduate. Your family will get on your nerves sometimes in your life, thats a fact, but dont jeopardize your whole life on a whim. Just because you invision how your plan and life will turn out doesnt mean it will end like that.

There are billions of possibilities and outcomes and almost all of them are negative. Just stick through it and try to get passed the hard parts. Remember it'll be greater later, It just takes a little time.

thanks everyone for your advice! I realize now tht running from your problems isnt the right choice. But the whole reason wasnt really because of my family...my friend is actually going to run away and shes like my little sister and I feel like i need to protect her. Shes my best friend. Should i tell her parents?

I think convincing her running away is not the best idea will be better, I know from experience that telling parents most likely would make things worse

Yeah if you tell the parents straight up without attempting to convince the friend beforehand they'll likely be very mad with you.

Inform your parents about what's happening, running away is always a last alternative if nothing else is working, even then it should be really considered.

My advice is to just handle it man. I had to live with fucked up parents for 18 years. Make friends and hang out with them. Join a sport.

Well i get how you feel im 18 and ive thought about running away alot but theres no point life would get so much worse you would have to work 24/7 for food and rent. Tell your friend she needs to think about life.

You guys are all right and have helped me so much Im glad there are still some good people on sythe. I dont thing shes going to now i changed her mind. I actually play soccer and its a good way to get away from my family
