Default Eating healthier

Hey guys!

Ok, so like basically everyone else in the world, since the start of the new year, I want to try to get in shape.
I signed up at a gym relatively close to my house. I've only went once, but I plan on going a lot more. I don't
really know what I'm doing there, but I've been looking around sites such at Bodybuilding.com and checking out
fitness programs and things like that.

I'm not really that fat. I'm about 6'3" 210 lbs. My mom and family say I'm skinny, but I'm definitely not. I'm not
muscular in any sense, but not fat. I have a bit of a belly, and no definition or anything. But anyway the point
of this thread isn't really about working out. As I was looking up fitness programs and stuff, I've learned that
diet is VERY important, and I won't really get the results I want without a good diet.

A lot of people may think it's easy to just follow the guidelines on the sites, but it's not that simple for me.
Here's a little bit about me. I'm a 19 year old college student. I live at home and commute to campus every
day. I'm a very busy person, when I'm not at school I'm at work. Unfortunately I work at a fast food chain called
Wendy's (I'm sure most of you know what Wendy's is). At home, my mom barely ever cooks. She mainly just
orders out. Things such as pizza and stuff like that. She also loads the house up on Mountain Dew (I fucking
love Mountain Dew). So yeah basically, I wake up don't usually eat breakfast and take public transportation to
school. When I come home I usually go straight to work, and by this time I'm really hungry so I eat way too much
Wendy's. And when I'm sick of Wendy's food there is a Taco Bell right across the street. When I eat at home,
my mom just orders out.

Being a broke college student and not having much time in my day, I find it really difficult to find a way to
eat healthy. I'm really hoping someone here on Sythe could offer me some help or healthy alternatives that would
fit into my lifestyle. It would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Okay, first, plan out how much you want to lose per week.

I personally am going for about 2 pounds / 1 kilo a week.

If you got a iphone/i touch, i suggest you get it.

download myfitnesspal

track what you eat, to lose 2 pounds a week, you should be eatting aprox 1200 calories a day, but this will depend on your bmr height/weight..

i would explain more but i gotta shwoer..

add me on [email protected] and ill explain more..

whilst dieting so far, ive lost about 10 kilos, maintained for 5 weeks due to an operation and started my diet again to lose another 18kg to be a stick..

Honesty, one of the best things to do is get a personal trainer. Just book a few sessions, and its enough that they will help you devlop a weekly workout routine, teach you how to switch it up and make it fresh from week to week, and most importantly - how to eat healthy & the sorts of foods that will help you get the physique you are striving for It is definitely worth a try, and usually is not too expensive if you just book a few sessions.

Lock yourself in your car for 2hrs with the heat on
you will lose 9 pounds in 2hrs.
Or just try exercising when you got free time
Good Luck

With you working out, you are going to need lots of protein.
It is ok to eat pizza, but make sure you use a napkin to dab off the grease.
This would be a good meal plan. Ask your mom to buy you frozen chicken breasts in a bag, eggs in a carton (18 pack), 2 gallons of milk (2%), Protein shake from a vitamin shoppe (and health food store), potatoes in a bag, a box of salad, tuna in a can, burger buns, cheddar cheese as a block, and other green vegetables from the grocery store.

Ok, I am sure you are probably a bad cook, but it is EXTREMELY easy to cook chicken and a potato. All you do is first take out two chickens from the bag and warm up some water in a tupperware and thaw the chickens. After the chickens are thawed (not hard), get a pan, put some canola oil on it. Set your stove to the middle temperature. Then after the pan is hot, put the chicken(s) on there, and cook each side for around 6 minutes. I cook one side for 3 minutes, other side 3, other side 3 other side 3. Cut the middle of the chicken, and make sure it's not pink or colored like that. Once it is done, put on some cheddar cheese on it, and put a lid over the pan. Let the cheese melt, and grab some burger buns, and wala, you have a chicken sandwich. Cook a potato in the microwave (make sure to poke holes throughout the potato, or else it will explode). You have a nice lunch right there.

The plan:

Breakfast
Meal 1: Make 4-6 eggs scrambled, sunny side up, or whatever you like
Drink protein shake
8 oz glass of milk
(I HIGHLY suggest you workout after waiting around 30min-1 hour after eating breakfast)
Meal 2: Drink protein shake after working out and have some vegetables and maybe some nuts like peanuts or almonds. Milk is optional
Meal 3: Chicken sandwich, 8 oz glass of milk, potato, and some green veggies.
Meal 4: Eat your other chicken sandwich you made, or if your mom brings home some pizza, you can have that, but make sure to dab off grease. 8 oz glass of milk, some nuts, a banana.
Optional Meal 4: Tuna sandwich instead of chicken sandwich.
Meal 5: Protein shake (optional: glass of milk)
Meal 6: Before going to bed, eat a peanut butter jelly sandwich and glass of milk because if you are lifting, your muscles are getting repaired as you sleep, and protein helps repair them.

Try to avoid sugary things such as candy, soda, etc. I suggest you just drink a soda once a week, to reward yourself, and not to feel like you are trapped from eating anything.

It is important to splurge once every 7-10 days, so like I said, not to feel like you are trapped.

This is a meal plan that I stuck to for awhile, and it did wonders. This is a meal plan not for pussys, because at first, it is kind of bland.

In order to be losing weight though, make sure to keep lifting, doing cardio, ab workouts, and sticking to a solid diet.

For you, since you weigh 210 lbs, I suggest to have between 180-240 grams of protein a day. What I just listed for you to eat, would get you from 180-240 grams per day. This is relatively cheap too. A bag of chicken breasts are around $6, milk and eggs are very cheap.

MAKE SURE you have breakfast EVERY morning. It is essential. Your body needs it. If you have any questions, hit me up.

Try asking one of the the beef cakes (the ridiculously muscular guys) at the gym, I asked one when I first started going and he showed me how to use most of the stuff correctly and told me some things to eat (mainly protein like chick etc, no specific things I can tell you), you'll probably find it more informative than reading off of here and you'll have to go to the gym if you want to learn more

Well I know exactly how you feel, I need to learn to get my ass in the gym. My friend told me the other day, either you can sit there and play vids or get up and go to the gym and do something wtih your time.

Now eating healthier is harder than you think. I've cut back on soda and if I get fast food I try only eat half. When I'm at home I eat more eggs and such for protein.
