Acne.
I've recently been getting acne on my the upper parts of my face and the upper parts of my back. As a 17 year old, I know it's normal. The acne really doesn't bother me, but I still would like to get rid of it. What treatments/creams do you guys/girls suggest that will effectively and or quickly get rid of the acne?

Re: Acne.
I use a face wash called "Sebamed", it works very nicely for me. I use it only in the mornings while I shower. That same company makes a moisturizing cream that you can apply after you shower.

I'm looking it up now. What was it specifically? The body wash or cleansing bar?

Re: Acne.
St. Ive's Blackhead Scrub works wonders for me. It's less than $15 and lasts a couple months.

Re: Acne.
I used a pill called acutane in grade 10, has alot of side effects and you have to get your blood checked once a month but it worked great for me.

Re: Acne.
Really you should drink ALOT of water daily, remember your body is made of water. People often forget how much water is needed per day to perform exceptionally. It refuels your body and keeps your body at its peak, also it really helps to get rid of acne.
Another way is to break through the top of the pimple, the way where the pus is coming out and then apply a dab of alcohol, keep reapplying the alcohol every 10 mins for about an hour.
I wouldnt use this method too much because if its excessive you can leave dark spots on your skin (this can be cleared by other products, but its better to stay clear of it initially). The best solution is to just stay hydrated.

Re: Acne.
I'm only saying this big because I want you to see it. Every night before you go to sleep, put a clean towel over your pillow and lay on it. That way all the nasty shit from every time you've lied down doesn't get all in your grill.
shit works, I'm telling you

Re: Acne.
These are the main ones I can think of at the moment that worked for me:
- Wash your face and your chest & back daily with proper facewash & soap
- Change your pillow cases frequently (as the oils from your face get on them and your face basically lies in it)
- Try not to touch your face or any pimples you might have
- Change your diet slightly. Try to cut out greasy foods and eat healthier. This actually makes a BIG difference, and if you go online or speak with a doctor, you can find out exactly what type of foods cause your oil glands to be more active
- Drink lots of water

It's the "Face/body" wash. The liquid's a green color and it smells pretty good

Re: Acne.
1. Take fish oil pills everyday.
2. Wash your face when you go to bed. (I use pronexin)
3. Watch what you eat. Try to cut down the sugars and greasy foods.
4. Drink 8 cups of water a day atleast.
5. Don't touch your face during the day.
6. Clean your pillow cover every few days.

Re: Acne.
I have had bad acne and nothing worked for me. I ended up using this medication prescribed by a doctor known as "Accutane". It worked. Look into it.

Re: Acne.
If you're one of those people who is against/too lazy for all the creams/rubs/washes and you know you wont go through with it, contact a dermatologist about "accutane." It's a pretty strict treatment but WELL worth it, I had horrible acne back in high school and it completely cleared up. It was extremely worth it.

Re: Acne.
DO NOT DO ACCUTANE. it stunts growth. you guys should research it more. The best way is to stay away from chemicals, wash your face with filtered water, and change your pillow cover every day. I have zero acne, and I'm 17. I've never had it.

Like you see on TV every 30 seconds, Pro-Active really does work. I use it myself.

Re: Acne.
You could try proactive like the posters before me have suggested. I've never tried it myself but I've heard that it makes your acne worse then it becomes much better.
A few tips:
- Drink loads of water (try to swap your sodas/fizzy drinks with water)
- Exercise (it's good for you )
- Eat plenty of fruit and vegetables! And try to eat fish like salmon, my mum always tells me that it's good for my skin.
Oh and one last thing. Do you gel your hair or use hair products frequently? If you do, that stuff can get into your pillow case and transfer onto your skin. My boyfriend used to gel his hair a lot which caused his skin to break out. Change your pillowcase regularly and wash your hair.
That's all I can think of. Good luck.
