Actually rap is basically poetry manified.
Its set to a beat and said faster is all thats different.

Maybe you have selective hearing and don't WANT to think that he's good. Therefore it doesn't matter how good he really is, you'll never get it.

I know my opinion of Eminem is bias, but that doesn't take away from the fact that he is one of the most talented lyricists.
