Anyone wanna help me expand some?
I've been listening to a lot of rappish stuff lately, Hollywood Undead, 3oh!3, Brokencyde, etc.
I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of music that's similar to this, and that you think I might like? I've tried Pandora.com, but it's giving me Linkin Park shit -_-
I literally ONLY listen to those three bands right now, aside from one song from The Used that my friend Aliza says is "our song" :P
So yea, suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

No, but does it not have characteristics of rap? Listen to Rich Man and stuff like that, does it not sound like rap?

Re: Anyone wanna help me expand some?
Ok, I no longer listen to any rap anymore, but people seem to have a VERY difficult time in hearing the difference between rap and hip-hop.
Let me give you some examples:
50 Cent=HipHop
Akon=HipHop
Immortal Technique=Rap
Brokencyde= I have no frickin' clue, I guess it's a cross between hiphop, Hcore randomness and a failure at life. Hollywood undead is Hip Hop and 3oh!3, I've never really listened to their music.
Just when I think that the music industry couldn't be more polluted with terrible bands; Brokencyde and 3oh!3 come out.
If you want bands like the ones you listen to, check out Last.fm, they have a great music community where you can find people who like the same music as you. Also, they have a great tool you can download, that will track your songs and will suggest others to you.

Re: Anyone wanna help me expand some?
I don't advise listening to new hip hop as it has no flow whatsoever. If I were to listen to any rap, the newest I'd listen to is bionic jive. They are a rap/hip hop, most likely inspired by rage against the machine. And they were new in like 03'. I'd never listen to anything like, "flo rida" or "drake." All of that is bull shit. Nothing in their lyrics can actually benefit you in any way. Biggie smalls once wrote a song entitled "Juicy", and it explained how he was put down in the dirt and not going anywhere in life, and then later on in it, it explains how he became famous, and rich for following his dream. Or listen to tupac's "dear mama." It explains on how he didn't give up hope even though his mother was trying her hardest to raise him.

It matters because we have a say in the music industry. I can't stand mainstream artists now, especially "rap" ones'. But, an opinion is an opinion. Most people probably wouldn't like the music I listen to, like escape the fate, blink 182, rise against, etc.

Re: Anyone wanna help me expand some?
Some of the ones I listed are mainstream, but they aren't shit. They make good music, which is my opinion of course. I used to listen to the bands you listed, all those genres hardcore/metal/punk/screamo/etc.. but you know I like to expand to all different sorts of genres.
I just hate it when people say "oh they suck, blah" You have to respect all music. There's always so much more to gain from all different kinds of genres. I was just giving him some good artists to listen to just to start off his rap/hip hop experience. I get what you're saying though.

Thanks. I've always like Lupe Fiasco and Jay Z. And I agree. Why talk down to people's music? It's opinionated guys.

Right. Let's all go listen to Metallica, Iron Maiden, Pink Floyd, Megadeth, and all that. I'm sorry I listen to a new and different type of music than you enjoy. Why don't you list some bands that you like for me?
