Terrible movie, first thing I thought after the second scene.
I just saw it in theaters and I wanted my money back.
The entire movie was tough to understand, it wasn't explained enough and the parts that were explained proved itself useless time and time again. I'm trying my best not to spoil it for you guys, but my opinions and thoughts on it itself (hopefully!) may warn you to NOT WATCH THIS MOVIE.

Is it true this movie is like a prequel to "Alien"?

The ending looked like it.

I thought it was pretty bad, and the ending didn't seem conclusive. If you choose not to see it, you aren't missing anything, except maybe the origin of the aliens from Alien.

It was horrible--I literally watched it yesterday. Bunch of small talk and very LITTLE action. I don't recommend this movie.

It was a very poor prequel, lots of it made no sense. Its not a movie you watch for the story which is what it was supposed to be about. It pretty much is a bunch of bullshit back story then like 30 minutes of some mild action.

I thought the part with the alien abortion was too much. It was unnecessary and only built to the last scene.
I have concluded this was no prequel. Only an inter connection of what the Aliens were.
This movie is based in 2093, not the 70s-80s that Alien was.

You might want to make your quest for high post count a little less obvious.

As for the topic at hand, i've not seen it but want to, as I enjoyed Alien and Ridley Scott's other works, especially Blade Runner.

Charlize Theron is pretty hot. I enjoyed the cncept of it. They traveled to another world, had this 1 trillion dollar spaceship, the thought of seeking answers on who created us etc.

It was absolutely a prequel. The alien at the end is the queen. The movie ends on January 1st, 2094 while the first Alien movie takes place in the year 2119... I don't understand the hate that you all have for this movie. Also Weyland corp was the same corporation used in AVP.

Fucking terrible movie, I paid $10 to see it and I wish I had never gone. The first scene was pretty cool then it just went downhill from there
