How to stop your stomach from growling in class
How to stop your stomach from growling in class
We've all been there - sitting in the middle of class when, suddenly, your stomach makes growling noises. It's normally not just one growl, not two, but several noises. It's embarrassing to say the least...
Why do stomachs growl?
Stomachs growl when you have an empty stomach. The actual noises are caused by the air being squeezed around in your digestive system. Your muscles contract as if they're digesting food, when, in fact, there isn't any food to digest. This is caused by hunger / appetite.
How do I stop my stomach from growling?
The key to keeping your stomach from growling is eating. It's easy to eat a small snack during passing periods, while walking to your next class. I suggest eating anything of good content - by this, I don't mean a packet of chips or a granola bar. Fruits work great, as they fill your stomach with fruit juices and other nutrients. Breakfast VERY is important to the start of your day as well, without a good breakfast, your stomach will growl furiously!
My stomach is growling during class! WHAT DO I DO!?
Get your water bottle/juice bottle out and drink up. This'll fill up your stomach and give your digestive system something to digest besides air. With the liquid in your stomach, the air won't make [as many] sounds as it would make if it were alone in there. If your stomach persists, don't act on it. If anything, laugh at yourself, or just ignore it. Remember that this happens to EVERYBODY at one time or another.

Honestly... you're awesome but, this thread is just spam lol.
I suggest changing title to "How to stop your stomach from growling" That would make it less.... >.>
Other than that, i'll try the guide out whenever I'm having the problem lol.

I don't see how this thread is spam. It's a simple guide teaching users what the problem is and how to fix it. Good luck with using the guide

Re: How to stop your stomach from growling in class
I took ADHD medicine in my last 2 years of high school and didn't eat much during the day, so I had this problem often. It was very frustrating at times. I'm not good at forcing myself to eat, so I usually had something to drink on me. Juice or soda is the best thing. Also gum helps a lot and any kind of mint or candy. Anything you can get in your stomach.

Part of my guide suggests that people eat to prevent stomachs from growling.

Any juice is great as juices contain something other than just water. Adding that to my post, thank you!

Agreed that it is very well common knowledge, but also agreed that common knowledge is very helpful throughout life. Good "Fun" Guide.

Re: How to stop your stomach from growling in class
I like this guide, even though it doesn't have much content, because of the calm colors and formatting that makes sense. I like indenting paragraphs, but it is fine as it is. I also like that you put sources.

Re: How to stop your stomach from growling in class
My stomach only growels a couple times then it's done. I just say "Boy, I sure am hungry!" or "When's lunch?"
nobody cares really.

Re: How to stop your stomach from growling in class
Hahaha this guide is hilarious! But actually very helpful... I kid you not, I just stumbled upon this lying in bed with my stomache growling like crazy. I've been noticing it alot lately at night when its quiet and I can really hear it. I guess I just need to fill it with a proper meal or 2. A growling stomache during class is no fun...

Other then that, thanks for the share I guess.

It is not healthy to east gum when your stomach is empty.
Nice guide, but no secret tips. Ofcourse you must eat if this is happening.

Re: How to stop your stomach from growling in class
This isn't much of a guide to be honest. Eating food, that's an obvious and doesn't really need explanation. Drinking water or juice falls under the same category. No one really has this problem if they have food/drink near them in class. It would be really helpful to explain what to do if you have neither.
For anyone that has this problem, I find sucking my stomach in when I feel as if my stomach is about to growl will stop it.

I knew this already, but it's useful if someone didn't. We can't have bottles of water/food in our class though.
