Hello Everyone!

I'm Brett and I love Redstone in Minecraft, so I know a TON about it. Lots of people at school ask me how to make things, but learning it is hard and takes a while, but what a great payoff!!

First, to start things off, one of my creations which took a few hours...




Okay, on to the learning!!!

BASICS


Here is redstone wire on the ground, the line on the left is "powered" and the one on the right is not.





Now, redstone wire is layed on the ground to transfer power from one object to another. It's pretty straightforward.

Next up is the Redstone Torch.



Whenever wire is connected to this, the wire is powered on.

Now, redstone wire can only carry the "power" or "current" for 15 blocks. So, what if you have something like a door, for example, 30 blocks away? Well, you use a Repeater.



Now, this carries the current for an additional 15 blocks, while only adding a short delay.


INPUTS

You need some sort of object to actually create power, let's explore this a little.


1. Pressure plate
-Can be stone or wooden
-Sends an output when stepped on or an item is dropped on it.
-No difference except that the stone one is not activated by items dropped on it (shown below)
