Default World War II on the Home Front and the Front Lines

I need help answering the following questions. They tie in directly to the Causes of World War II.

Short Answer Question: How was the United States affected by World War II at the home front (in America)?

Essay Question: Compare the American strategies in the European and Pacific theaters.

The short answer question does not concern me, but the Essay question is more of my weak spot. The essay will be written in class, but I would like help with the organization of key points.

What are the strategies in each of these theaters?

Any help that can be give is appreciated.

Well based on the history channel it affected America badly, if you were not at work you were off to war, all able men and woman were at work making war supplies. Because of the lack of cars then they used buses in metro areas and that was failing because they didnt have the people to drive the buses.... Im tired if u have the history channel check it out allways worldwar 2 stuff

For the essay question, basically this is what happened.

in the pacific, the idea was to take an island one by one with an ampibhous assualt after bombardading the island with heavy atterillary fire after a few days.

In the European theater, it was more in a wave with attacks happening at the same time to weaken the flanks of the Germans so that they would cave in.

Hope I helped some

Actually just studied this in my freshman social studies class and I can't remember much :P

I know that in the Pacific theater, the U.S. used a strategy called "Island Hopping" in which they took one island after another. I believe the first was Battle of Midway, followed by Iwo Jima, and lastly Okinawa.

lol OP is banned, but ill help anyway.

Home front: Women were forced to take over men's jobs while they were at war. This gave women a chance to prove themselves in the work place and led to many advances for the feminist cause after the war.
