Charge Back
Hey, so I was wondering if someone was to buy an account and pay via paypal. And then decide hey, they can't prove I have the account so I will charge back.
How long do they have to say they never received the item?

Re: Charge Back
Depends on what kind of payment he makes..
Also, if you get a personal payment from a credit card funded paypal account - they could call the CC-company and ask them to invalidate the payment, claiming he didnt make the transaction.
Anyway, they could do it in matter of hours? All they got to do is to call paypal when the customer service is opened.. I think its like that.

I mean like how long before they can't do a charge back. If it's like 4 months later after payment can they still call up credit card company and get the money baCK?

Hmm.. Im not 100% sure about this; but I think its 45 days.
read some about it on another forum just now..

MUST be filed within 45 days of the original payment transaction. IF the buyer files it after the 45 days, PP will NOT investigate it.
|
Edit: Just realized there's information about chargeback/dispute when clicking on "More details" on a payment you've made:

You can report a transaction problem in the Resolution Center within 45 days of this payment. Have a problem with this transaction? Click here to resolve

Re: Charge Back
If they paid with their Paypal balance, I believe it's 45 days.

Quite wierd.. gaypal know that I deal with virtaul/intangiable goods, and they haven't said shit to me since they unlimited my account (good thing I guess).
Anyway; I told them I sold cd-keys, provided webhosting & fixed blogs and shit like that.. they eventually asked me for a receipt on the cd-keys part.. which I easlie provided.

Re: Charge Back
Technically 45 days, but PayPal becomes wary of chargebacks after 2 weeks.
Also, if you get them to send it as Payment Owed and have them write in the message "this is for a virtual item which I have already received", they cannot recover their money. However, if you did not do that, all you have to do is tell PayPal that the transaction was for a virtual item and they will not refund the person, as they do not accept claim backs on virtual items.

They can still do an unauthorized dispute regardless of how they sent it.
