Does it red ring, or just turn off?

If your still under warranty and its red ringing, call microsoft and have them fix it.

If your not, find a guide on how to open it and clean it out with canned air and then put more thermal paste on the processor.

Use the googles.

OT: Try wrapping it in a damp towel and leaving it in your back garden overnight. Hope it works out for you.

put a fan next to the xbox, I had this problem, I put a fan next to my xbox. (I had to lay it on it's side). Then I usually every few hours let it cool down and turn it off for five minutes.

Make sure it's in a well vented area. Only do towel trick if your getting 3 red rings (even if you're under warranty, as they can't tell that you've done the towel trick. I did it, it broke like 2 months later, sent it in, they fixed)

Red Rings of Death. Occurs when your Xbox overheats too much. Try the suggestions other people have already said and you should be able to make your Xbox work for small periods of time. Don't leave your Xbox on a lot and if that doesn't work, contact Microsoft.

wow your sorta a NEWFAG to the whole console scene I'm guessing if you didn't know what RROD was!

FUCk you xbox just got cancer! but Microsoft has a cure since they give an extra 2 years warranty for that! unless you got a elite, then your screwed because those aren't covered!

2 things that microsoft claim to prevent overheating are:
- Xbox Console left in an upright position
- Avoid direct contact with carpet as carpet is a goof conductor and prevent sufficient cooling of the console.

Have you tried placing it in a container filled with cold water, and then playing? That should help keep it cool.

Buy One Of The Fan/Coolers At Gamestop/E.B. Games. Never Tried Them, Although They Might Help!
