Well, it's been a good 8-12 months since my last piece. Which, as luck would have it, is easily enough time to lose any talent you once had (apparently, anyway).
I couldn't think of anything to do with this, so I just did something quick, bit of a warm up I guess. Hopefully I get it back.

EDIT: Ugh, the text looks even worse on here. Might fix that up once I get my fonts back, I had to use shit ones, still did a bad job, though.

im loving the pencil tool tbh, thats just my opinion though

looks low quality. the colors seem to not compliment the gray from the stock (or maybe you made it gray? idk). Basically the color pattern in this isnt really appealing that much.

It's not LQ, it's supposed to look that way, trying something new but I wasn't really happy with the result either. The text does look very LQ, though.
You're right about the minimum effects, it's only 20-30 layers, so it's just basic stuff.
