The GFX secrets thread.

Post a secret or two about your GFX work here - i'll start off with;

1) I can make signatures, but i'm too temperamental and easily bored to make a decent LP.

2) I've realised that fashion websites are a great place for stocks (lookbook.nu etc)

1. When someone asks me for the best resources, this is always what i say: "There is no BEST resource, because every resource is the BEST resource, you just have to make the BEST out of it, and have it on the BEST project that will use all of it's potential."

2. I'm picky when choosing what signature to upload, I have literally, hundreds of signature .psd's in my computer, all projects that i am unsure of. Hahaha.

3. When I'm working at something, I tend to NOT NOTICE EVERYTHING ELSE that is happening near me; I just focus on the computer, even for hours. I once did something (I forgot what) for 6-8 straight hours-- yup, no standing up.

Haha... here I go (not really secrets go).

1. I save ALL my .PSDs, the ones I make (so I can edit later), and customers (if they want changes).

2. 400x100 is my fav sig size, shhhhhh....

3. I make a lot of sigs on msn for other people, don't really post them here

4. I didn't buy Photoshop CS4 because I don't really have $1000

5. I ask for help from cool people I look up to (T R 1 B A L, Kiabin, Kovan)

1. I love c4ds, but choose not to put a buttload of it in my sigs.

1.) I specialize in banners, am not great at sigs.
2.) I didnt buy CS4 either.
3.) I hate working with small areas.

1) I hate illustrator, and yet it's so essential that i'm forcing myself to learn it.

2) I have two "actions" in total, both of which are for photography.

3) CMYK turns me on.

1. I usually look over my best .psds to get ideas for new sigs.

2. I hate ripping. I would kill anybody who rips.

3. I like working with stocks.

4. The first thing I add to a sig just for fun is a splatter brush.

1. I have to copy peoples styles, because I don't have enough creativity skills.

2. Same as Tr1bals, I robbed that site lol.

1: I spend more time looking for renders and stocks than making alot of tags
2: I spend 5-10 minutes on a tag and if I don't like the look of it I delete it
3: I have no style
4: I've been using the same collection of 10-20 c4ds for most of my newer tags, that is if I end up using a c4d.
5: The text on my tags are almost always the song I'm listening to when I finish it.
6: I never use brushes
7: I smudge on default settings

-My GFX ability went downhill shortly after getting mod because I got lazy as hell, but by careful choosing of how much I showed to the community, I created a sense of hidden awesomeness that nobody questioned therefore getting away with charging an arm and a leg for what was essentially crap on a canvas; the less I made, the more people thought I was fuckawesome.

Despite illustrator being an essential tool in graphic design, and my teachers pressuring me to use it, I also hate it.

1) I have never ever saved an illustrator file.... Photoshop through and through for me.

2) I am not planning to buy CS5, but I am planning to get it.

4) Clipping masks are my best friend.

5) To save myself time, I sometimes recycle old signatures - reusing backgrounds or other features in a new one.

1). I don't have time for GFX anymore
2). Sigs are the only thing i'm decent at.
3). I look up to everyone's sigs .. no matter how bad it is, the slightest idea i see in a sig is worth looking up to
4). I haven't touched photoshop in months

1.) I've never followed a tutorial, that's why i'm not so good at sigs XD

2.) I like soft colors, it looks good, plus it's not hard to combine them.

3.) I get bored too easily at GFX too like Tribal XD.

1.) Before i came here i didn't use photoshop for about a year

2.) I never paid for CS2...CS3...CS4 or CS5

3.)I save EVERY .PSD file.

4.) If I have no inspriation I cannot make anything in PS.

5.) For inspriation i look on Deviantart and other peoples signatures and commbine different techniques and styles

- I dont follow tut's as much as i used to, i just experiment with effects.
- Im getting alot better at sigs.
- I <3 Pen Tool
- I've always used the same 2 C4D packs, i need new ones tbh haha.

Well.
-I make lots of wallpapers then just delete them, just so i can keep myself occupied.
-I use to many C4Ds
-I love Illustrator now that i got good with it
-Ive never followed a tut

- i hate tutorials ive done a total of maybe 4 in my lifetime
- i usually make sigs of hot/half-naked chicks to keep me interested..
- im in love with fractals
- i spend hours making my worst sigs and minutes making my best >_>

-using my own photography in my signatures just makes me frustrated about the photo itself :L

-more than half the layers I use overall are "Curves" layers.

-i'm lazy, so my blending usually just consists of making everything have the same tone for shadow/highlight.

-i haven't smudged in about a year.
