I've had 3 dogs, and my parents method is to punish them when they go where they're not supposed to, and hold them on a leash where they're supposed to until they finally go, then praise them. It takes a while for the dog to get used to but it works. Try to train your dog to bark or something when it needs to go do its thing.

Didn't the mother teach them to be potty trained? If not, get one of these dogs.

Hmm...
Quote:
They are highly active and are certainly not indoor-only dogs. Jindo dogs need reasonable space to roam and run. Jindos require a lot of care and attention. If kept in a yard, the fencing must be at least 6 feet high.
That's a bit of a turn off...

Put their nose in it and use loud voices. That's bad to them and they get their face put into what they're not supposed to do. When they go where they're supposed to, praise and a treat if you feel like going all out.

pretty much what rs nechryeal said..

but also when you let the dog out..
for the first couple of months
only let the dog out of the back yard
or the front yard.. only one i picked the backyard..

so the dog will realize that when it has to go..
it will go to the back or the front door which ever you choose.

also if you see your dog sniffing and walking around.
it most likely has to go to the bathroom.. =D

Cover most/all of your house with newspaper. Whenever your dog goes pee make sure its on the newspaper, if not, then after he goes somewhere else to pee, place him on the newspaper so he knows thats where to pee. Repeat this over and over till your dog gets it while gradually removing the newspaper less and less. Eventually get it so the newspaper is outside and then after that remove it all together.

If you DONT put there nose in it they wont know what they did wrong.

For all my dogs the simple way of teaching them it was wrong was grabbing them by the collar firmly drag them over to the pee or whatever and yell or say loudly like no or something and maybe even smack their nose lightly if you want but i dont suggest the smacking :P

after being angry at the dog put them outside for a little bit. Dogs can sense anger >.>

and whenever they do go outside praise them and walk them a lot :P

Wow you're a dumbass....

On topic now.

First off, just put puppy pads and let it out on a regular basis so it actually may learn....

Puppy pad's teach the puppy that it's OK to go inside the house. Puppy pads are probably the single dumbest thing you can use to train a dog to go outside.

Puppy pads do not teach the dog to go outside.

You guys have to think as if you were the dog yourselves. I like Heavenlords idea. Hitting them will just make them scared and confused.

You wouldn't know... You move the pad like a foot per day(at least that's what I did) and eventually it leads outside. It taught my lab to do it easilly.

Put pepper on the ground where it has pee'd so it doesn't smell it and do it there again. Also make sure you don't pat it or something after it's done its business inside somewhere.

Wich also reminds me. If your dog ever tries getting into the garbage pour Hot sauce all over the garbage like ALL over so when the dog get's into the garbage there is a nice hot surprise waiting for them

And after the countless dogs i have had i seriously do suggest just grabbing the dog bringing it to it's mess and saying NO! BAD! etc. Put the dog outside and after a good amount of time not too long just bring it back in. But that pepper idea sounds decent i guess i have never heard of it
